Mobsters vs Monsters is back: Saturday 24 October 2026 at 12:00 UTC, for 24 hours, until Sunday 25 October at 12:00 UTC. Read the full rules: Mobsters vs Monsters, how it works Same idea as every year. Costumed monsters and their bosses are loose in the cities, every one of them has a bounty on its head, and your gun is the answer. The difference this year is that they do not stay down. Some guys just won't stay wacked. They get back up. When your shot drops a monster there is a 50% chance it tries to get back up. If it does, your flank gets a chance to stomp it back down, and if they land it, it stays down and you are paid. If they miss, or you have no flank, it gets back up as a Zombie with 2 HP and the same bounty. Your shot counts as a hit, not a kill, and anyone whose gun is ready can take it down, you included once your timer is up. A monster gets back up twice at most. A boss gets up once, with 25 HP. Your flank: Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb. Two of your bodyguards ride along to finish the job. They stomp a monster that tries to get back up, they fire extra shots during a horde, and when you bust a monster out of jail they rough it up on the way home. Your flank is your 5 strongest living bodyguards with at least 1 rage point, and the 2 with the most energy right now are your active pair. A bodyguard you have named keeps its own name. Rage is the dice. Every act lands 25% of the time per rage point, counted up to 3: rage 1 lands 25%, rage 2 lands 50%, rage 3 lands 75%. Each act costs 1 energy whether it lands or not. A bodyguard's energy is as big as its rage, and it comes back 1 point every 5 minutes. There is nothing to set up and it costs nothing. No bodyguards? You still hunt and you still get paid. Horde Hour. 12 waves of horde zombies pour straight into the cities, every 2 hours on the hour: 12:00, 14:00, 16:00, 18:00, 20:00, 22:00, 00:00, 02:00, 04:00, 06:00, 08:00 and 10:00 UTC. Each wave lasts 15 minutes. No jail and no busting: they come to you. They are weak, 2 HP each with a bounty of $1,500 to $3,000, they never get back up and never go to jail. When your shot lands on one that is still standing, each bodyguard in your active pair with energy left fires one more shot at it. The kill and the bounty stay yours. Busting them out. As every year, the monsters start in the shared jail, and any city's jail page lists them. Bust one out and it follows you home to your city, where you and everybody there can shoot it. A monster killed in a city comes back once more in the jail 5 minutes later, with 3 guards and 1.5 times its old bounty. Bust it out and kill it again; the second death is final. Gary Gobbler's flock. Twice an hour, at :00 and :30, a boss turkey arrives in every active city with 125 HP and a $2,500,000 bounty. This year there are 15 of them, each with its own name and face, and bosses never go to jail. Two new screens. The Monster Hunt, built for your phone with the swipe pad, and the Monster Jail, one tap per bust. The old Wack page and the old jail page still work exactly as before. The usual rules. One shot every 45 seconds, and firing early adds 3 seconds. Fresh monsters are protected for 5 to 15 seconds after they appear. Bounties, gifts, raids, the daily rage reset and the normal Wack page are all unchanged. The full rules are here: Mobsters vs Monsters, how it works, and the results go up at https://mafiareturns.com/comps/halloween_2026/ after the event, as every year. The fine print, same as every year. Everybody has the same chance to hit a monster; your wack skill does not matter. A monster takes 5 hits the first time it goes down. A hit can scare a monster into dropping a random gift, and a miss still pays: one favor, two or three insta petties, or one insta felony, every time. Only Thugs and above can take part. Your timer. The event shares your normal attack timer, but a shot at a monster only puts 45 seconds on it. Shoot a player, an MIA or a Durden and you get the normal wack wait instead, and you cannot shoot a monster again until that wait runs out. If your attack perk is active, every shot at a boss has a one in four chance of adrenaline: no wait at all before your next shot. Where they are. Only characters with the Halloween profile and the orange H tag are event monsters. The bounty is in the monster's profile, so is its location, and monsters are loud, no stealth, and never travel on their own. Click the monster's name in its profile to wack it. Spawning stops at 12:00 UTC on Sunday 25 October and the event officially ends when the last one is dead, so anything still standing after the cutoff is still worth shooting. Please allow up to 72 hours for results and prizes. See you on the street. Bring your flank. |
