BEEEEP....BEEEEP!!

Monty wakes to the sound of a very annoying alarm and throws it across the room in frustration. As he gets out of bed and slides into some pants he looks in the mirror fixing his shave and brushing his teeth getting ready to go to work. He heads outside to check the mail and is intercepted on the way to the sidewalk by a man sent by StonedSilent.

"Mr Montiego? My name is Fred, Silent wants you to meet him at the airport, he says bring a gun."

Monty, knowing something bad was happening if he was being asked to grab his gun, immediately rushes inside and readies himself. Checking his wallet he quickly grabs his gun and the only bullet that remains in his possesion. Quickly he waves Fred away and makes for his car.

"This can't be good...they would never try to trust my aim unless it was something big."

Before he reaches the airport Monty grabs the last of his money from the bank, loads his only bullet into his gun and finds Silent.

"What's the deal man?"

Silent passes Monty a piece of paper that points out LargeHamster as a target last seen in L.A.

"Are you serious? I thought...ok, I'll be there."

Monty boards the plane, still not completely sure what's happening but knowing what he needs to do none the less.

Hours later as Monty leaves the plane standing in L.A. he is greeted by Alessia herself and quickly he reaches into his pocket clutching an envelope.

"This is for you, it's what's left of my savings, if something happens it should go to someone who can use it eh?"

When Monty reaches the exit and is out of sight of any security he checks his gun one last time, noting that he still only has the one bullet in it, he curses himself.

"I knew I should have invested in more...well, too late now."

Monty makes his way to where he was instructed that his target would be standing and waits...minutes later he sees a man walking down the street ahead of a large group. Monty counts up the men, realizing this has to be his target, he takes aim at one of the many bodyguards, just as he was instructed, that was all that was needed, the man had no clue he was there, he had a clean shot, but something happened when he pulled the trigger, Monty developed a change of heart. This man had done nothing except take money from Hampster, in fact he was only standing there, unaware, Monty couldn't kill him for that, he was simply trying to make a living, so Monty changed his shot, he aimed lower, he aimed for the knees.

BANG!!!

The shot echoed through the empty streets and panic ensued. As his target lay on the ground bleeding he saw all the men across the road scatter for cover and duck behind the nearest structures they could find. In the panic Monty took full advantage and sprinted down the alley and around a corner not stopping until he ran into the familiar faces of his friends. He saw Alessia.

"It's done, there's no way that mans bodyguard can take a bullet for him now. Let's just hope the rest goes well. Now, I need to go lay low for a while, I'm sure they're looking for me about now."

"Understood." was the only thing Monty heard from his bosses lips as he departed her company for a while to await an update.

Monty knew the part he'd played was by no means huge, but it was a part none the less, it was the best he could do, his gun still warm, and empty, from the shot he began to wonder what everything was about, but it stopped at that. Hours later Monty sees some other friends showing up around him, all reporting that they had either killed, incappacitated, or wounded other members of Hampster's entorage. After a while something seemed wrong, one of the reports seemed paniced, Hampster seemed to be fighting back, the next thing Monty knew he was being told to go back home, somewhere safe, they were coming and needed to be drawn away. Quickly he boarded the next flight out of town and made his way back toward the Midwest.

Landing back home Monty heads to the main terminal to wait for his friends. Realizing that fewer returned that had origionally left Monty already knew what had happened so he asked no questions he just waited. As another plane landed Monty saw a man on the roof with a rifle waiting, he looked down at the runway and saw the familiar face of Hampster stepping off of the plane.

BANG!!

Monty watched Hampster's body drop, and that was the end of that, we all knew of course that there would be people popping up afterward still loyal to their dead boss, but they were all already accounted for.

It was a bloody night for Monty, he had seen more loss than he cared to, and shared a great victory for his family, it was a large step. He was still not sure about the details, and in fact, he didn't really want to know them. All he knew was that he was alive, and several of his friends were dead, or soon to be killed. It was unfortunate, but Monty still had a job to do, he was supposed to just help keep records and paperwork in order, he was never supposed to be called into a gunfight like this, but it had happened, and now he had work to do back at the office, he knew it would be empty for people celebrating, or mourning, but regardless, he had a job, his family needed work done, he was the man assigned to it, that's how it was. As Monty heads back to his car he passes a nod to his boss knowing that she might need more money in the near future.

"I'll see what I can do for you ma'am."

With those last words Monty got back in his car and returned to his home collecting all the information he could, and preparing for funeral arrangements.

Thanks for all your comments, and you can bet you'll see more, just a bit of history, this was based entirely off the events of the night Hampster fell, and my role and recollection of it, these are true events, down to a large number of the things said. I was just inspired to write that night, it will happen again I'm sure.
