| Lost Mail? | Started by: Joop on Aug 10, '08 09:22 |

Joop addresses the streets, as a new figure around these parts he has an issue to share with the community. Standing on the roof of his car he begins to speak... Has there been a recent crisis with the mail system in this world, or are some of the older members too arrogant to speak to the new guy on the block? Almost eveytime i try to speak to older, supposedly wiser people they choose to ignore valid, well written mails which i have sent. I understand they may be busy, and cannot speak at the time, but they sure can take 10 seconds out of theyre time to send a reply? Why is it that they choose to ignore people they do not know, for no good reason? Its rather annoying, i think all of you lot should take a look at yourselves, and when you were new if nobody had the decency to give you a little help from time to time then maybe you wouldnt be where you are today. Don't get me completely wrong however, some people are decent enough to speak, i have recently found a family who the older members take a little time out for me. But as for 95% of everybody else ive met...Your a disgrace. Steps down and walks away shaking his head |

Noob takes the time to speak to the new mafioso in streets complaining about lost mail I would just like to say, don't tarnish everyone with the same brush, just because some people did not reply to your mail. I can make excuses for them all day but I'm not going to, I'm sure they can come and do that themselves. You say that 95% of people you spoke to did not reply, and that only 5% did, based on the fact that you have only sent 17 mails, that would mean you have only had one reply. Now I can only assume with the way you spoke, that this is not the case, so I think maybe you may have sent 5-7 mails to people you did not know with no reply and the other 10 all got a reply. So maybe, 95% of us are not a disgrace and maybe, just the people who did not reply, in your mind, are a disgrace? Noob walks off leaving Joop to think about what he has just said |

Quite possibly, I seriously hardly ever get a reply from any of the older members, should it not be theyre duty to guide us? And maybe look after the new boys around here a little better? Maybe there would be less problems. |

Noob walks back over and takes a stroll down the streets with Joop I did not say I didn't agree with you, hell I think we have to show each other respect, even if it is in the form of a reply to mail. If we was in a "perfect" world, everyone would talk to each other and guide the young ones along, but that in itself could lead to problems. Maybe you just have to choose who you speak to more wisely? Noob stops and leans against a lamppost offering Joop a cigar |

I would say that completely disregarding a mail, whoever it's from, shows a lack of respect and a touch of arrogance. Personally, I ignore all mails from people trying to solicit something or gain narcotics information; I don't have time for that. That being said, no it is not the duty of the higher ranked mobsters among is to guide the younger mobsters. It is their duty to do what their Boss tells them. If my Boss tells me he doesn't want to see people mollycoddled and would rather they stand on their own feet, then I will follow his wishes; just as if he tells me he would prefer to see people given a guiding hand, I will follow his wishes. The problem is not that we, the higher ranked members, are not helping; it is that you, the newer members, have a take take take attitude and expect things to be done for you automatically. Incidentally, what are these problems you're speaking of? I'd like to see you cite some examples; unless of course you're speaking half truths and alluding to issues which don't exist. |

Thankfully accepts the cigar off Noob Well there are problems in the community, not so much problems but general diagreements amounting to wars and such. Im not writing this thread complaining because i want my arse wiped and not have to work for anything, i want to earn where i get to in my life. However, a simple thing like a mail is ignored by alot of higher ranking members showing a lack of respect and may be the reason for some people going astray, bad decisions can be made due to a lack of guidance, and general communication with the older members in the community who can point them in the right direction. |

<joins the="" group="" already="" in="" discussion=""> I speak only for myself here. I have never known any of the current leaders in place to be unwilling to help anyone. The things that so many of you forget, in our position, we are loaded with tons of mail everyday. Some are well written, most are not. It is our job to help groom and mold new members of our world. However, so many of the mails requesting help are from people unwilling to help themselves. I will never, ever deny help to anyone who has taken the time to read our bible, and the dozens of personal guides, that I know can be found in every HQ from sea to sea. This shows they want help, not a handout. My point is the people in charge are only human. And I am not saying your email was bad or you were not willing help yourself. But you may have been mail number twenty one and the previous twenty mails were ignorant and a waste of time. For myself, I would stop answering around the sixteen mail.</joins> |

Morph slowly steps up and looks Joop in the eye When I first got involved in the mafia I didn't start mailing high ranked players. I looked around and found out most things myself. You should not expect all of your questions to be answered. If you search around you will find many interesting things. One of which is a bible which tells you most the things you need to know. There will also be (in most families) a set of rules which you must follow. If you read these rules it will tell you what you can and can't do. In respect of wars, after each war a street announcement is normally given which explains all the information the person who began it wants to say about the incident. If you think another member is treating you badly or you have any information then sure, mail the appropriate person. However do not expect a response. They WILL read your email and it will probably be saved for future use. If you look at all of these things there should not be much need to mail higher ranked and 'wiser' people. Steps back and walks into the crowd disappearing in the distance |

First of all Joop I am happy to see someone new come to the streets but I am torn with your speech. My ancestors were told a long time ago by someone who helped me a lot and taught me about the ways of this world that each son would have less enthusiasm for this life and I have to say I have seen some of my forefathers not care too much and putting in very little effort this was something I vowed not to follow and made sure it didn't happen to me. Anyone who knows me would tell you that I wish to see the people whose fathers have made there name throughout the years put there all into this business of ours however I don't think you can base your judgements on your research so far. I know of plenty of people whose families have been around these streets for a long long time and are still willing to not only talk to new people but help them as well, but on the other hand if you want someone to take your hand and walk you through this life you are in the wrong place, yes people will help you but noone is going to guide you step by step. If someone hasn't replied to you then im sure they have there own reasons but they don't have to talk to you and if they decide not to then its there choice but coming to the streets and speaking out against them is not the way to get through to them in my opinion. |

Nanny, What are you talking about? What is wrong with the valid discussion we are having on these streets? Also, you other guys. I didn't just come here and rather annoyingly start sending mails to all high ranking members of the community requesting anything. I mailed some with vaild, well written mail. I didn't gain a reply, so i mailed some others, i didnt recieve any help. I mailed some more, slowly over the next few hours and still didnt get a response. Ive read the help guide's and other sources in my HQ and things, however there are things they just don't tell you. So i thought someone must be able to help me, they are able, yet most are unwilling to help. |

I'm pretty much like Branston - I'll ignore most drug price and loan requests but if you send me a respectful mail looking for help or advice, you'll get a response. If people want respect then I expect respect back. |
