| Lifes' Greatest Question | Started by: Scott-Weiland on Jun 07, '12 17:47 |
|
Scott-Weiland was wondering around his castle, essentially pacing. He had, for some reason, had a lot on his mind lately. Sure, he had always been the type to ponder some of life's greatest questions, but this one has really messed with his head. "There is really only one solution to this," he thought to himself, "I'm going to take it to the streets. Perhaps a jury of my peers can assist me in answering this great question." With that, he raced back up to his room, put on a nice black suit with white pinstripes, and grabbed his trusty fedora. He walked outside of his castle, and drove to the busiest street he could find. Once there, he found an old milk crate, and dragged it to the corner. Pulling and lighting a cigar from his breast pocket, he clears his throat and steps up on the crate. |

WhereWasI listens intently,
I don't want to be remembered by other people. If I can't remember the things I've done or the places I've been, why should you be able to? Also, I think the universe's greatest question is "Why is a scouse running the city of Las Vegas?"
If I had to answer your question, I would say I want to be remembered as the guy who killed the Scouse Lord and gave an epic speech afterwards in the most confusing war in the history of this thing of ours.
WhereWasI pulls out a hammer, a nail, and a WhereWasI Paper Bag and nails it to a nearby hubcap.
Down with the Scouse Lord! Down with Hubcap worshipers! Down with the monkeys! Viva la Revolution!
Sensing a scummy presense nearby WhereWasI darts away down a nearby alley. |

Michael overhears the wise words of his Boss. For only working for a few days now for Mister Weiland, Michael only had one thought on his mind. Business. He wanted to join the business and learn the ins and outs. The same way his father did, he thought to himself... |

Seph walks around the corner to notices a small crowd starting to gather at the place the ole soap box sits all beat and broken, curious he walks over and here’s out the speech and ponders about the question that is at hand…
Well my friend that’s a good question, everything you do around here from the time your first grand pappy stepped foot in these cities your legacy has started, now what your bloodline has made of its time here has always been on them. A question you for now, are you talking about family legacy, or just our own legacy? (Bloodline aside?)
If we are talking solely about myself and what kind of legacy id like to leave behind when the hour glass runs out I am not to sure, as long as I die a family man, a loyal hard working members to this thing of ours I could die a happy man. All remains that you make the most with your time here, and as always you shoot for the stars and hope for the best. That being said, personal goals are not always met nor is the time in this place always enough to meet all the goals you strive for. It’s a crazy business we work in here, and you time could be over with the drop of a hat.
Seph makes his way back into t he crowd where he finds a light post to lean up against and here out any other speakers… |

WhereWasI looks at MichaelAgostino and chuckles,
"I understand my own predicament and my current place in the food chain. I am a mere cash mule, an Earner. Just like everybody else, I'd like to get to the top of the chain. Like a shark, or a lion even. I mean who the fuck in the food chain is beyond a Great White or even a 500 pound wild cat. Nobody. These days it seems to me that, more and more people on top of the food chain are nobody's. They have no street presence, or even a presence at all. They are just a face in a crowd. The coffee shops have been hoarded by masses to escape the one true meaning of our Streets."
You claim to "know your role" (one I would never ask my members to take or ever think they have), state your intentions to make it to the top and then call out the current crop of leaders' street presences. Quick problem, no one makes it to the top on their own, it can't be done and I have to ask; who are you impressing or befriending by calling out all current leaders for not fitting your narrow definition of a street presence? True leaders see a problem and work towards fixing it, they don't join the long line of people complaining about a problem. Quality leaders don't speak to speak, they speak when they have something to contribute. So if you have a problem with a lack of street activity, maybe you should try leading and thinking of something creative for people to speak about or encourage the people currently trying. There are a whole mess of problems CLs have not including Street Activity and I don't see the need for a CL to revive the streets when anyone could do it. Next, what is "The one true meaning of the Streets"? I define the streets as a tool, and like any other tool they can be used to accomplish a wide variety of results. This particular tool is used to communicate with the masses on a public level. IRC Avenue isn't something people escape to, it's something people go to in hopes to understand each other on a personal level. It's a tool which promotes personal communication, nothing more nothing less. Don't insult one tool when you prefer another, everyone has opinions and the right to choose which tools they use in life.
I'll explain something to you real quick, I had a MUCH larger street presence before I was authed, it's because my words carry more weight as a CL that I've recently tried to reserve them. My attempts at humor are to promote street activity, it's my way of using a tool in what I believe is a new light. It's easy to call out leaders for not speaking, especially if the streets are quiet, but don't you think leaders have enough to worry about? Should they really be in charge of keeping the streets alive? Especially when so many who complain aren't willing to make some type of an effort themselves?
WhereWasI chuckles again, then hands the woman Michael stole from an equal amount of cash.
If you work too hard trying to force your way to the top, you'll miss the big picture and never really achieve your goal. You're not the first to portray this message and you won't be the last. I hope everyone who thinks this takes the time to try to understand some one else's problems, but I doubt that anyone really listens to what I have to say, because I've been saying that type of message since well before I was a CL. |

MikeyFranzese stands and listens to lots of good conversation going on. He waits for MichaelAgostino to finish, takes a swig of courage from the flask in his coat pocket and steps up to give his 2 cents worth.
I don't really have a lot to add other than I have enjoyed this conversation and really take to heart everything that has been said. I understand where Michael was coming from with his original comments, but WhereWasI was spot on with his response. He has basically put out a challenge to all of us. Any one of us can make these streets more active. It's not just up to the leadership. As a matter of fact, a good start to being a leader is having some street presence and getting some good conversations started. Thanks for sharing your wisdom WWI. I greatly appreciate it.
Mikey steps down and goes over to introduce himself to WhereWasI. Nicely said sir. I appreciate your words. With that Mikey takes another swig from his flask, lights up a cigar and sits back waiting on someone else to share some of their experience and knowledge. |
