The Law on Civilians Started by: Sam_Rothstein on Aug 14, '08 10:36
Sam_Rothstein sits, cigarette in hand and debates on whether or not to arise a discussion of his thoughts, after much thinking he stands and begins to shares his views...

Recently, I have witnessed a series of conversations held in which mafioso's have, for some peculiar reason, felt the need to be very abusive and show blatent disrespect via mail and IRC. After seeing this I became intrieged to why a mafiso would act in such an innapropriate way to another for no reason. Therefore, after searching their profile I discovered that they were ranks of no competition, civilian.

This led me to think about a civilian's position and where they stand with the WACK system. I feel that these mafioso's do not seem fit for a world which is based around respect, they feel that their safety is garunteed as they know that it is seen as unfair if they're life is taken because of their rank. Previously, when I have recieved such insolence from these certain civilian's, due to knowing such knowledge of how a civilian's death is looked upon, I have been able to bite my lip and ignore such a display of disrespectful attitude. Although, why should exceptions be made for rude, innapropriate and disrespectful civilians who clearly don't belong in this world. After reviewing these points it then led me to ask a number of questions.

How is their disrespect justified?

Why should a civilian feel entitled to act in a way that would see a mafioso of a higher rank dealt with?

When does an innocent civilian become a guilty mafioso due to their own egotistical ways?

I understand fully that there is no law to the disposal of a civilian although it is frowned upon, rightfully so, and so it should be if they are innocent. However, where do you cross the line for an innocent civillian?

Well Sam, in my opinion if a Civilian is blatantly disrespectful and continues to be so even after you explain matters to him there is only one just punishment for him and that is death. Now of course you can't hand out a death sentence to a civvy but when they decided to finally come over to this thing of ours and join the ranks of the gangsters, why then you can punish them for their past misdeeds and their arrogance in thinking that they are untouchable. However its always a good idea to leave a note on the body so that the children will hopefully be wiser and not repeat the mistakes of the parent.

Well, in this world we have boundaries. One of which, is the killing of civilians. It is not permitted and cannot be justified, because civilians lack the ability to physically harm any member of the mafia. However, if a civilian were to verbally disrespect someone in the mafia, he has most likely ruined his chances of getting into a family, without severe punishment. So, eventually, he is going to pay for what he does. Now, despite what happens later in his life, he may still choose to use inappropriate comments about you or a friend. Deal with it. This world is made for everyone to have their say, and, the repercussions of the comments they choose.

So, in conclusion, there is nothing to do about it, but try and ignore the people that annoy you.

A civilians disrespect can be justified in the point that they are, at the time, a law abiding citizen who has not been introduced into this life of ours. As a law abiding citizen they don't have to respect the members of the mob. Of course as soon as they begin sticking their nose into our business they tend to get drawn into the life of crime themselves. Lets face it, crime becomes addictive and once you begin to even discuss it you tend to follow the road themselves. Of course that is when their previous disrespect comes back to haunt the former civilian and their life as a mafioso doesn't last too long.

Civilian: Starting rank. Can petty crime, can mug, cannot felony, cannot wack, cannot be wacked, cannot carry drugs. Automatic promotion to Thug after 12 hours or acceptance of an invite to a family.

I'm sorry but I do not know of any law abiding citizen, otherwise known as "civilians", who do not commit the above.

I understand that the point you are trying to address is that if a civilian is not in a family, a community in which they must show respect, then they do not have to show respect. Although, any civilian who joins the mafia world, ranked civilian or not, knows the way it works and commit pettys and mug, therefore in many ways act in the way in which a mafioso does, making them no different.

It's dark in the corner. Too dark to notice someone standing there. Were it not for the embers from the man's cigar, that danced about him as he smoked away, no-one could have had a guess that he was there. Taking a deep lug on the cigar, the cherry brightens and lets light upon his face. The man's lip is twitching, as if eager for him to speak. He can suppress the erge no longer. Stepping forward and into the light, Fabbri slightly parts his lips and lets the smoke flow from his mouth. Holding it off to one side, he speaks...

Respect, signores. It's what defines us from one another. It creates a heirarchy in our society, that gives us purpose and reason. Without it, we are nothing. If people are prepared to disrespect that system, our system, in our side of the ball park, then they should be prepared to face the consequences. Magazine. Cock. Fire. Dead. If those sons of a bitches want to disrespect then they're in the wrong place, and they can scidatle right out o' here. They know exactly where they are, and they know exactly what they're committing themselves to the moment they set foot into New York, LA, or any other god damn City where our highers call the shots. They need to understand what requirements are bestowed upon them when they enter our World.

There's no place here for scum like them.

Smiles contempt at his little speach, as he retires back into the shadow and perches the cigar back upon his lip. As he goes to take a lug it comes to his realisation that in the time it took him to talk such sense that the gentle wind had disignited his cigar. Standing idly, he looks up and glances about the crowd...

Anyone got a light? Eh?

Lemon comes to the corner, sees what is going on and decides to put his views forward

I have come across many of these disrespectful young thugs in my lifetime.

I believe if they are old enough to give this sort of rudeness they should get the fair treatment any other mafioso would recieve. I agree with Sam (tips his hat to Sam and cheekily asks for a cigerette). No civillian in this world is law abiding, they all commit petty crimes and mug people. If anything civillians should give more respect to the mob as one of their first aims is to impress a CL and work their way into their crew.

I can see that some civilians are trying to make themselves stand out but they cannot do this by insulting older and higher ranked mafioso.

I believe these disrespectful wannabee gangstas should be blacklisted amoungst CL and prevented from being accepted into a crew.

Just my two cents worth Sam, i am right behind you, and cheers for the carton of Pall Mall, i take it you just highjacked a new shipment.... smooth work ;)

Lemon walks away happy someone has finally given him the place to get that of his chest and smokin happily

Noob stops his car and parks up along the pavement. He walks to the local 7/11 and grabs

today's paper, as he is walking back to his car, he notices a crowd beginning to form, he walks over listening to what everyone has to say and throws in some answers of his own.

To answer your first question "How is their disrespect justified?",

Well plain and simply it's not justified, no matter what either party, may or may not, have done openly disrespecting another mafioso is not and can never be justified. Following Omerta we are all meant to push it up the chain of command and get on with business as usual.

Now onto your next question...."Why should a civilian feel entitled to act in a way that would see a mafioso of a higher rank dealt with?"...

No one is entitled to anything in this life, everything is up for the taking, they are not entitled to act in the way they do, they CHOOSE to act that way. Everyone knows there are repercussions to everything they do in this life, but they do it anyway.

"When does an innocent civilian become a guilty mafioso due to their own egotistical ways?"

A civilian is never guilty unless they choose to act like a gangster or mafioso, they may know how the system works but as a civilian they do not have to follows rules, they are, at this point, Looking in from the outside and thus have no ties with how things work. They maybe ABLE to do crimes and mugs but until they ACTUALLY do them we can not see them as guilty.

Civilians cross the line as soon as you do any of the above, but why let them get to you? Surely you should have the last laugh? Revenge is best served cold, let them think they are forgiven until the time is right to get revenge, for their guilty pasts!
