Paid Durden spawns Started by: Vantino on Jun 24, '12 00:53

Some may like this, some may not.

My suggestion is to allow paid Durden spawns i.e. Allowing players to pay credits to spawn a wave of Durden's.

The idea may need some fine tuning, but the concept is the same.

My thoughts on this were to have a couple different tiers.

For 20 Credits, Tyler Durden and his crew of 30 will show up sometime in the next hour.
For 30 Credits, Tyler Durden and his crew of 60 will show up sometime in the next hour.
For 35 Credits, Tyler Durden and his crew of 75 will show up sometime in the next hour.

While all other spawned targets are usually rated at 1 Credit/1 Kill, this one needs to be different. This is because you are not guaranteed a target as you would be by spawning an IA.

Example: Player X and 4 friends decide to all pitch in on a Durden spawn. All player pitch 4 Credits, and 30 crew members appear.

Player X and his friend ARE NOT guaranteed 1 shot per credit. (Which is why the Credit/Kill ratio needs to be different.

MODIFICATIONS
1. More math might need to be done to find the most accurate/fair credit/kill ratio.
2. " will show up sometime in the next hour. " Do we stick with this or just spawn immediately?
3. Do the Durdens spawn with BG's or without? Would it be cheaper without? More expensive with?

Anyways, still in the rough idea stage. I would appreciate user input here to see if anyone else would like to see this...

I have one major question. would bought durdan spawns count towards the IA count, and how so if they did?

honestly not sure about this idea. some merit, but some downsides to my mind.

I don't think this is a good idea, you can already pay for kills in the form of MIA's which is limited to 4 per 48 hours for a very good reason. It would be unfair for people to basically use real cash to buy themselves a cannon & be able to kill someone who has actually put a lot of time & effort into their character.

Jack is right. Nice, thought out idea, but there are too many hot guns in this game already.

This is pretty much how durdens work already, except it costs a hell of a lot more than 35 credits to spawn them... and even then it's about a 125 spawn at most. And it's always the same amount of credits no matter how many Durdens are spawned...

Yes, they would count towards your MIA count. 1 Paid NPC kill would count towards your MIA limit.

Agreed. Which is why every PAID NPC kill counts towards your MIA limit.

With each paid NPC kill counting towards your MIA limit, this isn't a valid argument.

Are you saying this is how it works on the backend? That after X amount of credits are purchased a Durden spawn is earned?

To add just a tad bit more. The reason I like this idea is that as a family you can work together. As a Hitsquad, you can work together. You and your family can plan spawnings and all work together. Maybe people can get a system into place to quickly map our durdens. Family members practicing how to locate people, etc. I see this as a potential way to to add more interaction between a family/hitsquad. More communication. I see this adding a fun element, and think it would improve the game. As I said the amount of credits spent in relation to the amount of Durden's spawned probably needs to be tweaked. I pulled those numbers out of my ass. There is a certain risk you take, as you really aren't guaranteed a certain amount of shots. Just how big of a risk is what someone needs to decide. If people think a consistant number of durdens with no tiers is the best, so be it. Whatever the community decides.

I like the idea. But it needs to be way more expensive than just 35 credits so that one is not spawned every 5 minutes.

I would more like a 125 credit option also if this was to happen, it should be a random amount for durdens. Between 50 to 75.

500 MIAs being spawned triggers the Durdens. We get like 120 max from a normal spawn which works out to about 4.15 credits per Durden. They wouldn't have made the credit cost so high if they wanted Durden spawns like you're suggesting.

Also, you didn't say that they would count towards MIA count in the initial suggestion - If they counted toward that I think people would still just spawn MIAs and your suggested feature would go unused, since it would cost us less to just spawn MIAs.

I do not think anyone would want to buy it anyways.

Have it at 100 to start the spawn you would need 4 other mobsters who would put up 25 credits for 2 maybe 3 and if you get lucky you may just get all 4 kills.....so then you are only out 21 credits, on something you can do on your own time.

The math for even a 100 credits spawn of Tyler you would need 25 mobsters to say yes we want a spawn then there would have to be 100 Tylers spawned and only the 25 mobster who started it can kill to get there credit worthiness.

overall I think this one sounds good but would not work out.
