I will not name names, other then saying this is about a conversation on the IRC main chat room. There was a comment about drugs and living in the woods, which someone stated a remark about homeless. I should have just ignored it I guess, but I made the comment that I was homeless, but have been clean and sober for 18 years. Not all homeless people are like the picture you drew for them. The comments afterward were downright offensive and I will not repeat them. I'm suprised somewhat at the ignorance of the people involved. They asked me how if I was homeless, can I play this, and how do I have access to internet. I'm not going to explain myself just because I don't feel I should have to.
What my reason for posting this is not to finger out those who said it, I won't stoop to that level, but to ask for people to have a little more respect for people that may not have as much as you. It makes us no less of a person. I won't be returning to IRC for a while, but I hope the ones that said what you did actually think about this and not take it as an attack on them. Thats not what I am attempting to do here.
Anyway I have said my peace, and hopefully some of you may understand why I posted this. |

I only wish some people would read this upon entry and be kinder to others. Some will claim it is just 'banter' or 'having a laugh' but I do get the feeling sometimes that many people say what they say because they are behind a computer screen. I have seen people be racist, homophobic, sexist and now vagrantist in #DivineLunacy. It is not right. And we should not accept it. What some may see as a joke, others might be offended. If you are going to start an offensive conversation, you should go to your own room. Imo, the admins need to start banning more of the offensive people to show that disrespect & discrimination is not acceptable |

It was me that said those things, and I would say them again. When I was homeless, I lived in the woods and did drugs - I was a drug addict and so were the homeless people that lived with/near me.
Time I didn't spend supplying my habbit I spent finding food or shelter. Not spending it on the internet for more than 10 hours a day. By the way Pharaoh I noticed that you have 30 units on what, day three? I honestly dont even know how that's possible.. I really really dont, especially when you're homeless...
Anyway, you said 'anybody can have internet it's only 40 bucks a month'. That makes you ignorant. You're an ignorant human being whom has never been homeless. I called out your remarks in IRC you storm off and make a thread in game? It's childish and i'm alrady regretting replying to this stupid thread. seriously.. |

It has been bought to my attention that someone hitlisted Pharoh with the same '30 units, 3 days' comment that I have just made. I would just like to make you all aware that I did not Hitlist him, nor did I even know he was hitlisted until this was pointed ouit to me. I wouldn't waste my money, or risk my player. I did not Hitlist him.
And I dont see your point, I'm not going to argue it any further and I'm done with this whole ordeal. |

I'm not sure why I feel the need to explain myself, but this does seem now like a personal attack. So I will begin by saying that I do live in a homeless shelter called Seaton House in Toronto, Ontario. My food and clothing is taken care of till I get a place, which I am working on now. I went back to school and got my grade 12 while homeless, and I am now looking into University. I just happen to have a lot of free time currently since I haven't started school yet. I will probably have a place by then, but the housing list is a long one here. I am thinking of getting into social work, so that I can address issues like this one, where peoples ignorance clouds their judgement. I don't get much money but I have a side business that helps, and its not that hard to fork over $40 a month for my internet stick since thats my only bill.
I will remind everyone, that I named no names, and I was not calling anyone out. You came and posted of your own accord. You can't assume to know everyones situation, and I again hope this thread may enlighten some of that. |

Oh well look now. Simple misunderstanding, I'm American. Our system differs, I'm oh so so so sorry that I didn't take into account the fact that other countries treat their homeless far more humane. Simple misunderstanding from now on I'll add American to everything that I say if that will make you happy. |

And as for the reason I have 33 units currently after 3 days, ask Izzy if I haven't worked my ass off for it. As I said, I have all the time in the world to play this right now till school, and thats what I plan on doing. |

Ricardo, you need to change to attitude to people if I'm honest. The tone in which you conduct yourself into other people's business is downright disgusting. Why are you telling him how to live life as a homeless person? Everybody's situation varies, he might get great pleasure from having the internet connection and being able to talk to online friends, or even friends he doesn't get to see anymore, and the only way of communicating with them is through the internet. Get off your high horses people, stop telling people how to live their lives. Concentrate on your own damn life. |

I'm not telling you how to live your life, I'm giving you advice on the way you conduct yourself to people. From what you've just said though, you've just reinforced that what I said was 100% correct. |

Lets take the homeless factor out of it. We have a man coming here, saying to show some respect and consideration when your talking in public. I have thicker skin then most but ive seen some stuff in dl that just makes me shake my head. Recently speaking their were some black jokes, albeit I did get a little chuckle being black myself, but my fiance, who is Mexican and native American, didnt take to kind to it. |

I am gonna have to agree with SammyGarcini. The tone of voice you are using ricardo just makes you seem arrogant. However he chooses to live his life is exactly that his choice. I see no problem with him spending time playing mafia if he has done his schooling and trying to get himself back on track. In fact I tip my hat towards him at the fact he is trying to better himself. There are those that don't care and will never try. |

I just started weekly therapy as well to work on childhood issues that made me leave home very early. We are hoping that will help with my immersion back into regular society and keep me from becoming more institutionalized than I am. I am self aware enough that I have a lot of work ahead of me, and I appreciate the vote of confidence and the affirmation that I am stepping in the right direction. In the meantime I will continue my Mafioso journey with zest and vigor until I start university, then I will probably only play a few hours each day. |

Ahhh DL the realm of the mighty keyboard warriors i agree with you Pharaoh a little bit of respect wont hurt anyone but theres to many people who get in there little cliques and enjoy running others down to the ground i am one who rarely goes into DL for that reason.
Good luck Pharaoh you have a long road ahead of you and i wish you the best. |

The fact of the matter is that if you offend someone, be an adult, apologize. You didn't offend his gane character, you offended him purposely then continued to offend him instead of leaving it alone. |
