Pinky floyd
Pink Floyd are an English rock band that initially earned recognition for their psychedelic rock music, and, as they evolved, for their avant-garde progressive rock music. They are known for philosophical lyrics, sonic experimentation, innovative cover art, and elaborate live shows. One of rock music's most successful acts, the group has sold over 200 million albums worldwide and an estimated 73.5 million albums in the United States alone.
Pink Floyd had moderate success in the late 1960s as a psychedelic band led by the late Syd Barrett; however, Barrett's erratic behaviour forced his colleagues to eventually replace him with guitarist and singer David Gilmour. After Barrett's departure, singer and bass player Roger Waters gradually became the band's leader and main songwriter until his eventual departure from the group. The band recorded several albums, achieving worldwide success with The Dark Side of the Moon (1973), Wish You Were Here (1975), Animals (1977), and The Wall (1979). In 1985, Waters declared Pink Floyd defunct, but the remaining members, led by Gilmour, continued recording and touring under the name, enjoying commercial success with A Momentary Lapse of Reason (1987) and The Division Bell (1994) and eventually reaching a settlement with Waters over the use of the name.
Waters performed with the band for the first time in 24 years on July 2, 2005 at the London Live 8 concert, playing to Pink Floyd's biggest audience ever.
Led Zeppelin
Led Zeppelin were an English rock band that formed in September 1968. Led Zeppelin consisted of Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and John Bonham. With their heavy, guitar-driven sound, Led Zeppelin are regarded as one of the first heavy metal bands. Their rock-infused interpretation of the blues also incorporated rockabilly, reggae, soul, funk, jazz, classical, Celtic, Indian, Arabic, folk, pop, Latin, and country. The band did not release the popular songs from their albums as singles in Britain, as they preferred to develop the concept of album-oriented rock.
Over 25 years after disbanding following Bonham's 1980 death, Led Zeppelin continue to be held in high regard for their artistic achievements, commercial success, and broad influence. The band have sold more than 300 million albums worldwide, including 109.5 million sales in the United States, and they are the only band to have had all their albums reach the U.S. Billboard Top 10. Led Zeppelin are ranked No. 1 on VH1's list of the 100 greatest artists of hard rock.

Both great bands in their own right. I'd say slightly different genre though, Floyd being one of the forerunners of the 60's psychedelic era and Zep Gods of 70's rock in its purest form.
For me it has to be the Floyd. Purely because of their mind expanding qualities whilst under the influence of certain substances. Im actually listening to Zep as I speak though, bah im in a quandry.....nope gonna stick to my original choice, Pink Floyd.
I implore anyone who hasn't listened to them to roll up a nice fat spliff, take some magic mushrooms or drop an acid and free your mind while taking in the mind-blowing sounds (if you're that way inclined of course - wouldn't wish to encourage the kids to become drug crazed monsters!) |

i know when im stoned off my nut is when i love music the most, and when i am there is nothing better than hearing wish you were here or dark side of the moon. it has to be floyd. Though Zep are great! |
