BlackJack at the Casino Started by: MikeHunt on Jul 09, '12 21:02

Winning Blackjack occurs when you beat the dealer either with the best hand without going over 21, or when you do indeed have true BlackJack. Which is an Ace, with a face card or a ten. With receiving 1.5 times your wagered bet.

Right now in the Casino, you can have a true BlackJack. An Ace and a face card. And the dealer is allowed to keep dealing himself cards until he gets 21, or he busts.

This isn't correct in true Casino play. Once the player has true BlackJack, and if the dealer does not, the hand is over. The player is rewarded with 1.5 times his wager. There is no push rewarded to the house unless the dealer has true BlackJack.

My suggestion is just to fix the Casino so that it's true play. And yes I lost 600,000 dollars due to this.

If I were PC-Galahad, I'd sponsor this as I've lost a small fortune on this as well.

But shhhhh, don't tell Lancelot, he'll beat me.  :(

{Could a coder please clarify that this occurs as outlined?}

I'm assuming when you say you've lost $600,000, you mean you didn't get paid out for what should have been a winning hand? Unless I've misunderstood your description and you somehow lost?

Either way, if this occurs as stated, I have no problems in sponsoring this suggestion as you should win in that scenario.

Report Post Tip

You're right. I lost what should have been, $600,000. Potential money.

Thanks for sponsoring this.

This isn't actually a fault, it's house rule that is used in several casino's & was researched and implemented by Anubis. To remove this would make it easier for players to bankrupt casino's which in turn will lead to players no longer wanting to own them & then there will be no casino's.

Even with this rule in place I have seen players such as Striphe, Archangel & myself to name a few walk away from a casino with 5mil plus, without this rule that could have easily been 8-10 mil.

Maybe a better solution is to have an option for these house rules such as this & being forced to stick on splitting aces & buy out of a hand within casino management which will breed some competition between the city casino's.

PC-flash-fire's idea isn't a bad one, but i agree that a change should be made. The fact is, A blackjack is a winning hand. House rules notwithstanding, I think that to see a blackjack, and then be roasted because the dealer pulled some crazy 7 card 21, is a little silly, and frankly, defeats the purpose of having a blackjack at all.

Report Post Tip

There are multiple house rules in the MR blackjack that arent a common place in most casinos. Ive been to casinos in 8 states amd never have i seen some of the house rules MR blackjack has. Such as not being allowed to hit on certain split hands. Ive always assumed it was to balance the odds in favor of the house.

Report Post Tip

Certain split hands? I haven't ran into this yet...

Thanks for sharing though.

Report Post Tip

If these are house rules, I would like to see a list declared somewhere of what rules the house currently operate by and these made options for the casino owner to determine personally.

Yeah I just split Aces to not be able to hit on them, and lost some good dough...

You should be able to hit any split cards.

Report Post Tip

ahh i never knew MR incorporated house rules into their casino games, makes sense now.
