Oh it does FP, Not at the moment as we have found a genuine group of Family heads and Captains that are working to better the community, But with the system we have now, I can and has happened how Denver has said... Noob awakes from a nice nap on his bench to a crowd of people speaking near by, he ask's a few people what the conversation is about and then chips in his own ideas... I think one of the main reasons we do not have "open" cities is that who knows what will set up, how many "crew leaders", to use the term loosely, would there be in that one "open" city? And when does this become a "closed" city? Is it "fastest finger first", the first one in a bold suit in that city wins? The whole idea behind having an open city means that you are giving control away, if a loose canon set up and decides to kill people, it would be a waste of x amount of people lives for nothing. If someone sets up and does nothing, again it is a waste of everyone's time for a position that could be held by someone who is actually going to make a good go of it. There are many reasons the leaders choose who they auth, but ultimately it means they are in control. Noob squanders back into the crowd |

You totally missed the point, Teruzzo. My question was, "What is stopping any CL from killing anyone and taking over every city under any system?". I'm not saying anything about what has or could happen. My question was, what is stopping a powerful leader from doing that? Nothing. You can have any sort of council you want. It doesn't stop people from making those sort of choices. I don't see safeties on any guns or shackles on any feet or hands. |

| Aye Mr Pig, I agree. There is nothing physical stopping a powerful leader from doing that anyway, but the leaders are keen to work with each other and attempt to better this community with their ideas and peaceful growth. Maybe that will to work alongside each other is what's preventing a powerful leader from attempting to consolidate power. | |

Pig has a good point. Nothing really keeps folks from just doing what they want to get an open city. but right now if someone did do it there would be retaliation from current leaders. Iris said earlier, and something i wasn't aware of...not that I a needed to be, but that our new auths in a way did do what my suggestion was. The basic idea and principle is the same...and from what Iris said, it makes sense that if a leader goes to a member and says, "Hey, ever given thought to running your own family"...a courtesy to the other leaders would be, "Hey I am thinking of allowing 'so-and-so' to set up, how do you feel about that" What boss would set up someone that was doomed for failure if all other leaders didn't think it to be a good idea... |

"Questioning" a system is not disrespectful. Take what SoundWarnings has done in this speech. He has sparked our thoughts, trying to start an intelligent conversation discussing some positive and negative sides of an idea. He has proposed a question that is not in line with the current system, but has not disrespected anyone. Now, if he had done something like, call out the current leaders, say what they're doing is wrong, and whine about how he doesn't like the system, he would be disrespectful. I think SoundWarnings has started a very interesting topic of discussion, and you coming to the streets to say he is questioning the current leadership is not encouraging any affirmation or negation. It just kills the progression of intelligence. Please think about what you say before announcing it in the streets. Please people. Continue. Walks away with a smile and heads back to the HQ. |

I cant help it Sir, I just got of the boat so i am still learning (OOC Meh how good is your Dutch?) *watches Shade go back to his HQ* Thats the place this discusion should take place. Its a family isseu, family should take a stand for one point or another and make this known to the world.... Just my 2 cents for this intelligent/conversation discussing K-9 |
