| Player Commission Post Background Envy | Started by: Pharoah on Jul 15, '12 18:18 |

I have noticed that when a member of the Player Commission posts in any of the game suggestion threads, they get a "whitish/grey" background and black text, to set them apart from the regular posters.
In every other forum besides suggestions, this is not used that I can see. Would it then be possible, that in the other forums, The individual that started the thread, and every post they make thereafter could have that same background?
It would make it easier to follow the theme of the thread, especially if it is a long one, and you don't feel like reading all the drivel in between.
It would also make it easier for CL's to check the threads of their crew, and easily pick out the threads they posted.
Of course it could only work in everything except suggestions, since there it is allocated for Player Commission. |

From a roleplay perspective this wouldn't be right. Saw there was a discussion that had attracted a lot of people. You would be amongst a crowd listening so therefore would hear all the other comments being said and you have to keep up with the flow of conversation, while the original poster started the conversation others who come along may have something more relevant to say and by only paying attention to the original poster you could miss this. |

Making certain threads stand out a bit does not in any way imped anyone from reading them all if they so choose. |

That is true but from a roleplay perspective which the streets are, to me it just isn't suitable. Also to be honest it sounds to me a little like laziness. Yeah there is stuff that you don't need to read to understand the thread. But at the same time there might be something that you would miss because all you were focusing on was what the original poster said and then referred to. |

So thats what you glean from my suggestion. That I am lazy. Well, that is your perogative. I think you have completely missed the point. You seem hell-bent on making this suggestion look bad. Is there another reason?
ONCE AGAIN: This will in NO WAY imped someones ability to read a thread. (pretty sure I said that) |

Actually I was saying that this doesn't fit in my eyes from a roleplay perspective, but sure feel free to completely overlook that. |

I want to apologize. I took what you said to heart, and did not look at it from an un-bias perspective. I've given myself some time to really ponder whether it would add anything useful to the game, and I can't really be sure. Lets just say it sounded like a good idea to me at the time. I'm truly sorry if I sounded overly defensive in my last post. |

I agree with the fact that it will probably help lazy people too much. |
