Reading Ricardo_SpadaforaJr's Achievements Update suggestion made me think of this:

Having a "Prowess like" % next to each achievements showing you how your doing compare to others of your own rank.

I think this would be interesting yet not giving much info about others achievements since most want to keep to themselves or at least family.

I think this is best suggestion i've came up with. :P

If it just gives you a percentage it's not invasive and doesn't tell you who has what so it's probably better than actually sharing achievements

To be honest I think this suggestion was a better way of doing it.

Prowess for achievements based on rank wouldn't work as those who have been demoted would obviously have completed a lot more achievements than a fresh account at the same rank.

I believe prowess is based on character age, not on rank.

PC-Flash-Fire raised a good point - while character experience is lowered by demotions, achievements are not taken away. So it wouldn't make much sense to compare achievements in the same way you compare prowess.

{I don't know the exact details of how prowess is implemented, but from what Izzy said the historical data of experience/age is being kept for each character. If you were to do the same thing for each and every achievement, the amount of data to store and process would grow dramatically.}

so then make achievement's prowess based on aprox. age?

I may be the only one thinking this, but giving a prowess to things like the shooting achievements would give away too much information about other guns surely?

I would be all for this, provided it was kept to information like petties, felonies, jailbreaks etc - nothing gun related.

hey i made the suggestion, but you can do wtv you want with it, if people find having prowess for shooting achievements is to revealing then dont have it :P

One of my main suggestions was to allow you to compare your achievements with another person's visible achievements but a prowess would be nice as well.

On the note of giving too much info away about guns, I understand that concern but I dont see that as being too much of a problem.. Lets be honest here, Everyone knows what a big, medium, and small gun looks like... Anybody that doesn't know where their own gun stands on that scale probably isn't that worried about it anyway...

but i'm also of the persuasion that there's far too much info out there about gun calculations as it is, so I would probably go for having the gun prowess' excluded
