| Upgrade DFP Pricing System | Started by: Chuck_Bartowski on Aug 13, '12 22:35 |

Hello,
What is your idea?
I'll try explain this as best I can, bear with me as I'm semi retarded. Basically, lets say I have 35 units and I pay 2 million to upgrade from Heroin to Cocaine for my DFP. Then later on I get 5 more units, and so I want to upgrade to 40 units, but it still costs 2 million which is the full amount of the upgrade. My suggestion would be for more of a sliding scale. If only want to upgrade by 5 units, I should pay a fraction of the price rather than the full upgrade price for those units.
Not that I know of
Potentially changing it to add either a upgrade units option or upgrade drug type?
Just tweaking the price system to be on a sliding scale, maybe by rank maybe by drug.
None
Just makes more sense that the full upgrade price shouldn't be needed just to move up by a couple of units
Technically more money in game, but the people quibbling to get the extra two units for DFP aren't exactly loaded so I'd say none
Fairer system all round |

Speaking as someone who's never owned a DFP, I think that paying the same price for 25 units and 5 units should be removed. 5 units should be 5 times cheaper. |

I do have to admit, it does kind of feel weird having to pay the full price of a DFP to upgrade not as just what Chuck says.. 5 units, but also 1 unit. As far as my knowledge of DFP's stretches back the price system has always been kind of weird. |

The reasoning behind the prices of an upgrade are that you would have to expand the physical size of the building or purchase a new building altogether, now you could take the risk of selling the DFP & re-buying saving you some of the cash but if your cities population has dropped you may not be able to re-buy. |

I disagree, I think the cost is fine as it is. Its risk vs reward, really. Though you are "only" increasing by 5 units, depending on your life span those 5 units could earn you much more than the cost that your paying. |

The DFP pricing is currently laid out that you pay back your initial investment in 7 days, and then double your money every 7 days after. |

Thanks for the replies :)
That's fine if it's been coded that way deliberately. I wasn't sure if it was just an oversight thing or intentional. |
