So an episode of Friends I watched recently gave me idea to start this topic. During that episode, Phoebe's arm is blown off, which awakened my limb loss phobia combined with traumatophobia combined with hemophobia and silently freaked me out (in other words, I'll freeze and shiver if I ever see as much as a picture of a man with one ear).

So anyway, do you guys have anything that you're irrationally afraid of?

I have an irrational fear and an irrational "freak out thing".

My irrational fear is of something protruding from the ground that I could fall and impale myself on. I realize this is stupid. I fully realize the chances of this happening are tiny, but, for some reason, if I am passing something sticking low out of the ground that has an edge or is small that could impale, I give it plenty of distance. :)

Secondly, you know those inflatable "men" outside of a used car dealership http://www.china-inflatable.net/uploadfile/uploadpics/200904/201122421583278177801.jpg Those things... No idea why but they disturb me. I think it has to do with the non natural motion of it?

2. Letting my hand hang down into the water when I'm in a boat. I will jump out of a boat into the water in the middle of a lake, but for some reason just dangling my hand into it freaks me out. Like something is going to come bite it off.
