As some of you may remember, on the old format of this game you used to be able to overhear the whispers if you caught a Witness Statement. Now more than ever we shoot a lot of Non playing characters So I imagine people seldom bother with whispers for them, I know I don't any more. I think that if this was introduced it would provide an exciting and potentially humourous new form of entertainment out of something that now feels mundane. I have proposed the idea on IRC a number of times and almost all of the time its met with positive reactions.

The only real problem I foresee is that the whisper used to take up a lot of space on the personals page but back then we received far less notifications, so I propose that it comes with a Show/Hide link or button so that it doesn't clog up a large part of the personals page.

I don't see any reason not to love this feature. It's a great idea and I for one would most certainly welcome it back if it were an old code.

As for the taking up of personals, it doesn't really matter. Once you've read the whisper there'd be no real reason to keep that specific personal. Can easily delete it afterwards.

I think this could be a very interesting addition. It could help us identify a killer of someone in case their stealth is too high. In addition it would only help us if we got to know more people in the game which will create more interaction between players. Not to mention some laughs that we might get from rather funny wispers.

Liked this back in the day and I still like it.

I like the sound of this, it will rarely be used I think though.

I don't know how true that is PC-Flash-Fire. I think you'll see people using it as was suggested to use it to help identify killers in case of stealthed kills. I think that it makes a nice piece of RP sense also in that, If your close enough to see who shot who, you might be close enough to hear what was said.

I'd also say if you getthe whisper should be somewhat dependant on your vision. not on their stealth, just on your vision

I don't see how a whisper would help identify the killer if it was a mostly stealthed WS as they're hardly going to put their name in it or on the opposite side of things they could put someone else's name.

All this would do is introduce a little fun as people will start using whispers like "Hahaha I just beat you to this IA", which I am for.

Good vision wouldn't make your hearing any better.

I wouldn't mind see this tbh. I'd also like to see a "last words" added, where the dead person has a limited amount of characters to say a few last words before he/she dies (they can be dead and just set the words next time they're logged in)

thats the thing though nobody is ever going to put their name in it unless they are reallly brave. it will create a doubt as to who did it. although you have a good point. nobody would use it to identify themselves. they could write other peoples names.

I have an issue with this as some whispers are a personal message to the victim and not for the eyes of others. It comes down to privacy between players. Also, RP-wise... If it's a "whisper" how is some punk around the corner going to hear it? It's not like you're shouting it out for the world to hear. The words are intended for the victim...
