Magic Wild Flower Started by: Nemesis on Aug 28, '12 14:29

On a nice bright shiny day, a shadowy man with a dark heavy coat walked along side the parks of Los Angeles. As he wandered along, he found himself staring at the children who are playing with the swing set pushing each other while giving out loud laughters and smiling faces. So he thought, what he would give to be a kid once again. The awful things his life path had took him through and the horrible things he had witnessed had made him weary.

He took a sit on a nearby curve, then he noticed this weird looking flower. It wasn't a normal type you would have seen every day as it looked like a rose but is also a daisy. The petals were dark purple with a faded red center. The thing that made it unique were the blue dots it contained.

The hooded man's attention was cornered as he noticed a man eating ice cream with his wife on a bench across from him. The couple had a baby sitting in a stroller beside the bench that was crying at the top of his lungs trying to get the attention of his parents. What did this baby look like? Why was it crying? He looked down at the flower and tore a single petal and wished that this child could be more spoiled and well taken cared of by the parents so he doesn't have to shed another tear again.

The tall shadowy man lifted his body off the curve step and wiped the sand off his bottom before he continued his walk through the park.

He then passed through the basketball courts as a kid around ten years old dribbled the ball performing tricks under his leg. The boy stepped back making sure his feet were behind the three point line then launched the ball with a one handed fade away shot. The ball landed in the net and didn't bounce off the rim. Amazed to see how much a kid can play, the hooded man thought.... what if I did that with my life instead of the crimes I wasted my life away with? He then raised the flower and tore another petal off and wished that this kid would make it into the pros after going to a good college.

He then proceeded to walk further to the east of the park when he heard a commotion behind him. A rather heavy set man with a red beaten up shirt standing near a market cart was trying to sell red and blue balloons and a small little girl with a blond ponytail was squealing past her mother with eyes wide open when she saw the balloon stand.
The mother ignored the daughter as she didn't wish to purchase anything at the moment. The small girl pouted and gave out shouts, hoping it would change the mother's mind, but the family looked poorer then the man trying to sell the balloons. They don't look like they could afford to buy small worthless things. The mother grabbed the daughter's arms and pulled her away dragging the shoe soles hard against the floor. The hooded man nodded his hidden head ashamed for this family as he proceeded to pull the flower out again wishing the family could get a better life and hoping that the mother and daughter form a better bond.

He walked along the side walk giving off a deep sigh as it seemed like it has been a full day worth of drama. When he was nearly out of the park, he noticed that he only had one more petal of the flower left. Seeing as he had used each petal to make some kind of wish for someone else, he now decided to tear off the last petal and make a wish for himself. His greedy mind immediately thought of money and wished some how he could become richer. He hoped the wish would have come true, but nothing happened. His hidden face gloomed and it turned into a frown. Maybe all those wishes he had made would not become true! What a stupid thought to ever think that a flower could make wishes come true.

He made his way to the bushes leading towards the exit to the park. His head was hanging down low as his hopes were beaten down. He looked up towards the sky as it grow darker. A crunching sound stopped him in his tracks. Wondering what made the noise he looked down once again to notice a hundred dollar bill laying under his foot. Could this be real?

Was this part of his wish that came true or was it just pure luck?Had this really been a magical flower that he picked off the ground?

By now, the sun had set and the hooded man didn't have much time before the pitch dark night skies would appear. Like a haste shadow through the winds, he rushed along trying to return to where he first spotted the flower, maybe there could be something left for him to find. Yet the closer he traveled, the darker it got. Still, convinced he could find answers to his journey soon so it wouldn't come to a abrupt end due to a cold breezy night sky, he ran towards the place.

Nearly passing the curve step where he had last seen the kids playing with the swing set, the scene area had been changed as there was a tall thin red oak tree that wasn't there before. Now there was a circled line of the magical flowers around the new red oak tree. He approached the curve and sat down once again. Just then, he noticed a carving on the tree. Someone must have etched it recently as the pocket knife was still sitting near the tree trunk. Fancy lettering carved the following: The giving tree.

Thinking on how his day was spent, he grab a hold of the pocket knife and carved some fancy lettering of his own which said the following: Thanks for helping me notice the small things in life.

I want some of that wild petal you have.  I wish for lots of bananas.  Sometimes, the small things in life are what counts!
