| Ranking fast? | Started by: Jabruu on Oct 04, '12 11:35 |

it's now no longer a challange to rank up to a certain level, all you have to do is some petty, drug deals and some jail breaking to get to wise guy and so on for other ranks.
The suggestions is simple, since we gain experience to do a petty we should be losing experience when we fail one. once we break someone out of jail we gain experience, and when we lose a jail break we lose experience and so on for fellony and posting etc...
This way it would be more realistic and the fast ranking will slow down. |

Actually it would be less realistic as you tend to learn from your mistakes as much as successes. Also a lot of jail fails are simply random fails rather than your skill being too low. |

Avoiding the realism part of this thread as realism should have nothing to do with a fantasy game based on the mafia (Godfathers doing petty crimes = real?), I actually think it's a decent idea. I've long thought that anything below Consigliere is really easy to make and although this wouldnt have a massive impact on the game as it currently stands it would help slow down the ranking a little bit.
Flash-Fire, I don't believe they're all random fails. To my knowledge, the failure of busting 0's is actually coded into the game (maybe squishy/enkindle can confirm if so or not) as why should a Made+ be risking his ass for a petty thief? They DO happen pretty often and would shave off just a wee bit of the ranking exp gained.
I think the idea needs something adding to it, but I'm not quite sure what yet. I'll have a wee think about it. |

lowering the experience on each failed jb is too much maybe it can be done like every 10 fails or 15 you lose some experience |

On the flipside Jabruu... keep it to every fail = lose exp. Then the higher ranks will have to learn not to bother with the 0's in jail and the lower ranks get a bigger piece of the pie. |

15 for low rankers and maybe the number decreases as the ranking goes up? |
