A newcomer to town with an old soul Started by: Abby_Sciuto on Oct 09, '12 03:31

Abigail Sciuto, a young girl from the Louisiana backwaters steps off the train that had carted her to Chitown, stretching as she looks around at the big city, surprised by the activity and myriad people all in a rush.

She was from a quiet town, hardly more than a bend in the river, listening to blues and watching the boats on the bayous. Abby had a sense that she was a big fish in the little pond of her hometown and, grabbing a small satchel and her walkin' shoes, she headed out, making her way to New Orleans and then on to New York, stopping along the way only long enough to make a few bucks, then move on.

She's a drifter, but not a slacker. Her momma had told her that "no good comes from those that ain't willin' to put they back into they work..." and Abby always listened to her momma.

Now, New York is her home. The gritty streets, the dark alleys, the hustle and bustle of life make her smile. She always knew Slidell was just too small a place to do anything with her life. New York has her by the heartstrings and she isthrilled to be in such a grand place.

Glancing around, her seemingly guileless looks hiding the heart of a nimble-fingered little minx, she smiles at passers by, eyeing how many of the grand looking ladies have their little bags and purses just dangling, just calling her name.

Abby's momma had also said that no daughter of hers was "gonna run off to no big city and end up being a street walker...."but momma didn't realize Abby's plans. She is going to get in good with one of those “families”...one way or another.

Then, she is going to return to New Orleans and go after the bastards that destroyed her family's 'gator farm because they hadn't paid the protection fees.

They would pay, and pay dearly.

Abby beamed and stopped at a corner stall, paying for a newspaper and sitting on a bench nearby, using it as a front to watch the people passing near.

Hi there....I'm Abigail...but my friends call me Abby.  Nice to meet you!

Goku had been visiting a friend in New York that day, finishing up on a little business they had. The meeting had not taken long, so he decided to have the rest of the day on the town. He had already stopped for coffee and a doughnut, and found a little bench on 5th street to sit down at. It was monday afternoon, and most chumps were at work, so it wasn't terribly crowded on the streets at the moment.

"Sure is a fine city, this New York." He said to himself. He had just finished his doughnut and was sipping on his coffee when a girl in her late teens or early twenties sat down next to him. This came off a bit odd to Goku, as strangers rarely just sat down next to you in New York. Goku tensed up a bit, and continued to sip his coffee, acting like he had not noticed her sit down. But then she spoke, and quite clearly she had sat down to have a conversation with him.

"Hello there young lady, it is nice to meet you. My name is Goku. What are you doing out all alone in a big city like this...you don't really seem the type to be honest."
