| HQ Fortifications: Refund option | Started by: TyrionLannister on Oct 23, '12 19:56 |

Could we have an option coded in that would allow donations be returned to the member that sent the money? |

I don't know that the cons are really cons. if my family is having a big ole HQ fort drive, the cances of getting to much sent in are fairly good. so it makes most sense to me to have a button that sends any money in the fort fund back to the donee for exactly that case. on the other hand, if the money is still there, it does mean you have some on hand for repairs. |

Indeed, at the moment though I have a fairly substantial figure available for repairs. A figure I would much rather return to the donee as its not required at this point. |

I think this only because of the way Detroit has been setup, because you are limited to the fortifications you can have to keep things "fair" you wouldn't need as much cash to repair after a war, but any other city that is Insanely Well Fortified may want a large chunk of cash for repairs during war time then they don't have to worry about getting money sent up at short notice. |

This does seem to only be necessary given the current rules set by the leaders governing Detroit. Once those are removed, I can't really see envisage a scenario where this might be needed again. |

I had the same issue when I was formerly a leader in Vegas. True, I may have had reason to use the money at some point for repairs; That shouldn't take away from the fact that I had no option but to keep the money in that pot where it could be used for nothing else. |

I'm not sure why there is a direct donation to the fortifications anyway, should really be at the leader's discretion in my opinion, so I wouldn't be adverse to a refund option. |

I would first like to know why it wasn't coded with this option to begin with, as we were given instructions when it came out that once money was put in there it couldn't be taken out and once we reached our max it would just be stuck there. I wouldn't be adverse to supporting this, if there wasn't a reason for the coding to be the way it is. |

Would also be interested to hear from leaders to see if there is any demand for this. |

As a RH who has done alot with the HQ forts I feel this option is needed. There are alot of times I feel money is put into the HQ fort when it is not really being upgraded due to money being needed for other things at the current time. I personally have told people not to worry about the HQ Fort at this time but not everybody has or feels the need to do this, a simple button added to give back the money currently in the fund seems like a good idea and one that I see no personal cons with. |

I agree with Grin from a PC, and a CL point of view. I don't think a direct donation to fortifications is needed in the slightest. There's just no use for it. The leader can directly donate, the donations members do make don't go into their earnings, and it can't be taken out if it's not needed. What's the point in it? It should be at the leaders discretion where the money goes, as has already been said. |

I personally had an experience where there was a little over 3 million in my HQ funds (for several months). |

You are correct Phil, the amount donated has zero impact on earnings. |

I've noticed this happen when I was LHM with Phil.. and I'm ashamed to admit it, but I have 4m currently sitting in the fortification fund, with max fortifications. |

If we did have a refund option, it should go back to the members that put it in. The fortifications are for the members, by the members. Money put there is not for the CL, so the CL should not profit from member wanting to protect themselves. (There is a few cases in history of CLs who didn't want to buy fortifications, but members did, hence the way it was coded) |

Aye that was the idea really, put it back to the member themselves as they are the ones that put the money in the pot. |

What if the code was changed so that when all fortifications were maxed out, the member got a message saying the account had been closed or you can't send that here or something to the effect that doesn't even let them donate the money in the first place? |

^ What Cassi said would be Ideal. But some families may have money already deposited in there, like Warrior's was. I'd think it should be returned. |
