Mont gathers a few remotely interested people about Well peeps, I was sat in a coffee shop the other day drink a nice cup of Earl Grey (Oh the irony). Whilst sipping from the bone china cup a fellow Don came in and shared my table. He wasn't a happy chappy, he had just lost a Capo from his family to a rogue. This left me to ponder two questions. Why does it seem to be written into the DNA of some people to buy out of their family and go rogue? Why in light of this, do we as a community allow them the reach the priveleged position where they are able to do this? If I was a gambling guy and I could find someone to take a few bets for me, I would be fairly rich betting on some people going rogue within their life time. Just the same as day follows night, Iris's cookies always taste the best, and the god called Mikus strikes down some of our more deviant people. Certain bloodlines will always go rogue. Maybe someone could share their thoughts on this matter? I for one will always look for the good in people, maybe its a character defect I have, but if it is a defect then I know that others in this thing of ours share it. I do however draw a line, yes you will get one chance but if you break any of my golden rules thats it. There are no more chances from me I wouldn't allow you the opportunity knowingly to get to the magic title of made man. Maybe others would and I'd love to know ther |

Mont, glorious as it may seem to rogue, and how it seems repetative of some blood lines to rogue continuously, I don't believe it's hard coded into their DNA. It appears to me to be a learned trait, mostly from reading back on the diaries of their ancestors. Arrogance and stupidity are hardcoded, though. So, roguing isn't in the blood, just stupidity. RIP To the downed member, who's name I don't know as I've just recently gotten back to the cities. |

For a long time the theories behind going rogue have been debated. No one truely knows why these people continue to do it. There are those who have purpose and drive behind what they are doing. then there are those who just use it to cause chaos and random acts of violence. It's been long debated as to whether the sins of the father should pass on to the son, many are against it but as we all know there are certain lines that need to be watched more closely than others. Sincerity is something that is easily faked these days and if I was one who was handing out promotions I would think long and hard about giving them to certain people, no matter how well they seemed to be behaving. |

Some have no reason to go rogue, other than they are bored or they do for kicks. but that is'nt always the case. Two of my blood lines went rouge for two diffrent reasons. The first time happened because his boss, at the time was "killed." and the rhm called to arms which my bloodline heard and followed he fought along side his beloved fellow members of the family, who choose to stay and fight.till they each fell to gun shots. This was loyalty to the family which however his only sin was joining one of the members of the bloodline of my current Boss Iris. and leaving her family to go back to war. He did write in his notes that was the only thing he regreted is her not knowing how greatful he was that she gave him a home even if it was Temp.. and she took those of his fallen bosses family who couldnt fight no more. and if he could be asked would he done it that way...Im sure he would have because that was war. The Second time.. well just say was a major mistake out of anger and pride.. which was caused by a Blood fued back from the old country. and Im sure he regrets that. |

I think this brings up a good point Prem. Now, rouging to me is un-redeemable no matter what. Whether it was because you were sick of your family, or it was for money, or just to spice things up, it's ridiculous to put peoples lives in danger; especially seeing as you WILL die because of it. However, some different outside factors that could be influencing your decisions; Your Crew Leader is dead, and rather then move on, you'd rather take the chance that 'they' will authorize you. Well, i did say different which would imply more than one, but i'll leave the rest to the public, and I'm sure FlyingPig will outdo us all anyway in this discussion. |

I'm not sure I would go so far as unrdeamable. With every character, you are supposed to have a new start. Be a new person. Some people Rogue, and never do it again, should their great great great great great great great great great great grandson be punished for it? No. Although, there are predictable outcomes for some *Cough*CLIPPER*Cough* But, if you rogue, most likely your son will be shunned as well. But should we really call it unredeamable and carry it down their bloodline? I think not. |

In my opinion Rogue'ing is totally unforgivable, especially since it usually happens Made Man or above. I feel that once your family puts that trust into you and you are a sworn into the family(through blood oath or whatever ritual)that trust should not be broken. Now yes there are exceptions to this, I think that if you are Made Man and above and your Leader dies you go down fighting for him. There is no Respect in joining sides of the enemy or even a ally. Blood in...Blood Out. |
