I'd like to announce that I wish to throw my name in to run for a position in the Player Commission.

I believe I have a fresh set of eyes to some of the issues that we face while playing Mafia Returns. I haven't been here long but I believe that during my time here I've done my best to be active in the Suggestions forum, and have also done my best to help the community. 

I believe that the PC is put in place to listen to the ideas of every member of our player community - I feel that having an open mind is very important and that all suggestions and ideas put forward should be heard out and taken into consideration. I think that my polite, open-minded and approachable personality would be a great addition to the Player Commission. 

So please consider voting for me for player commission, and if you have any questions about myself, or what I plan to do on the PC - feel free to message me in game or on IRC. Thanks!

Now that voting is opened up, I would like to make my position on game suggestions clear - there will be no surprises if I were on the Player Commission, you can sort of count this as an official mission statement if you would like.

Often times I notice on the Suggestion Forum, people bickering about whether a new suggestion is really needed whether it is something coders should 'waste their time on'. 

I for one, do not believe it is the job of the PC to decide what is 'worthy' to be coded, that is up to the coders to decide, and prioritize the needs and wants of this community. What the PC is here to do, in my opinion, is look at whether a suggestion is viable - obviously whenever there is a suggestion, there is at least ONE person who wants this new feature implemented, therefore it is a suggestion that should be considered for face value, not at whether there are more important things to be doing. 

I'll speak bluntly for a moment, many people see MR as something that should never ever be changed - some sort of nostalgic social group. I don't see it that way. Some may say the reason I don't see it that way is because I'm a 'noob' 'green' 'not oldschool' or the like. But that is not why I don't see it like that. 

I believe that MR needs growth, I believe that it needs to evolve over time (while sticking to it's core values at the same time). In order for growth it needs fresh blood (players) and fresh ideas to bring in these players.

I hate to bring this up but, MR is a 'business' as well. I know that's a stigma that wishes to be avoided, and one that does not accurately describe MR, but it still holds some truth. And what do we all know about a 'free market' and 'businesses'? If there is a need for something, a want for it, it will be fulfilled. Features that offer convenience and streamlining of tedious processes are improvements that should never be frowned upon, if they do not detract from the game. Whether they are 'worthwhile endeavors' and should ultimately be decided (or consulted by) the coders - let them prioritize their workload.

If I were to become a PC member I wouldn't try to stifle new ideas and label them 'a waste' simply because it's something that wasn't there before. Why? Because that's not innovation, that is not growth, that is not success. And above everything else, I want to see the MR community flourish and be long lived, with marked growth.
