I'm sure we've all said to ourselves... when looking at the +'s at the top of our screen... "Meh, this is annoying... I'll do it later."

Voting is very important for the site, and the users benefit from it too. However, I think there should be a way to make this just a bit more easy. It should not require that much effort to vote, and get the petty/cash bonus. Currently, it's click the + and then you petty, and then repeat. I think there should be a way to somehow turn this into one single action. I don't see any reason why a player would not want to petty when they're voting, or to lower their felony timer. So perhaps if the +'s simply completed a petty, and linked out to the voting sites, that would make everything much easier. Of course, the petty timer would reflect this when all is said and done.

It is a pretty small amount of effort people are being asked to make each day.

The whole process probably only takes a little over a minute to complete.

Be that as it may, I still see plenty of players without 100% voting. 

If they can't be bothered to click the +'s now, I don't think this suggestion is going to make them much more inclined to click them either.

That could be down to the fact they vote on another game (the whole same IP and such) and therefore cannot vote, or could be they are too lazy to type the verification.

The verification is something else that no matter what they would have to undergo, but even if they voted for another game, would they necessarily know which + would be for which voting site? 

I'm just suggesting that a click be removed because the back and forth between clicking the + and pettying is just an extra turnaround that I don't think is needed. Maybe perhaps it would simply be an extra button on the petty popup, until their voting for the day is exhausted, which a person could opt out of. 

Anything that encourages voting is an obvious plus - I agree with you there, Spike. However, this one is rather tricky.

As I see it, while the process of voting/pettying could be seen as laborious, the fact is that you are gaining those extra petties as a reward for making that extra effort. Removing the effort may help improve voting, but it also removes the incentive. A lot of users don't take much time to consider the benefits that voting brings to MR; they're merely interested in the immediate gratification of an instantly available petty timer. Harsh, but it's true, unfortunately. If this were to be implemented, it would be much more convenient for users but I'd fear it compromises the concept of voting, i.e. it is for the site, not just about knocking a few extra POs.

I agree with Grin and Flash in that if users are already unwilling/unable/too lazy to vote, this is unlikely to change their minds and even if it did, it wouldn't be about the voting - it'd be about the advantage to the user alone.

I do not see why anyone would not vote? It gives you what like 20k or more a day plus it lets you gain extra from petty and felony. I do not see how clicking little plus signs and voting is that hard? If you can get to 45 units or 60 you can click 8 plus signs a day. Making it one click is like begging people to do it instead of asking people to stop being lazy.
