I would say Halo 4, thats just me though.

Black Ops 2 isn't out yet so by that alone, you have to say Halo 4.. The trailer of BO2 can show you all sorts but until anyone has played it, no one can make any sort of valid argument that Black Ops 2 is better than Halo 4..

I would love to add another 20 posts to this thread once BO2 drops on why it is better then Halo 4. Until then I guess this is really the only one I can make.

Just compare gameplay on youtube and you will see the better game.

I have played Halo 4, and it is far from a good game, let alone a decent game.

I'll wait until BO2 comes out.  Everybody has their own opinions.  For instance, I too have played Halo 4, and I think it's great.  Hard as hell when playing on Heroic and Legendary, but quite the challenge. 

Halo 4 is a fantastic game.. And yeah you can watch the gameplay on Youtube but until you've actually played the game you can't make any sort of valid argument as to why BO2 may be better than Halo 4.. At the moment, Halo 4 is the better game because it exists..

Not denying that BO2 won't be a good game but how can you say that one is better than the other just by looking at a video of it? Don't be a sheep, be a shepherd.. Instead of just following everyone else that is saying black ops 2 will be better than halo, play them both (when BO2 is out) and make your own decision..

And Typhon, if Halo was indeed far from a decent game, why would it be rated a 9.5 by IGN?

Halo is Halo. Black Ops is Black Ops. I really don't like Halo, so my opinion is a bit biased. I played Halo 4 and returned it to gamestop and preordered GTA V. I love Black Ops so I'm sure I'm going to love Black Ops II. I haven't liked Halo since Halo 2

I havent played Halo yet but all I hear from friends is its awesome, I have a friend who is a "Halo Pro" who travels around and plays in tourneys and he said it was love at first sight lol, he hated Halo Reach, but we'll see because I'll be getting both when I run and pick up Black Ops 2 Tuesday. Until Black Ops 2 drops we cant say. But no it will not be the same as the last, like a lot of COD haters say about all CODs, different guns, and a features so who knows. Not big into the future thing but from what Ive seen it looks good. SHould be something I play online for quite some time. COuld care less about campaign however.

Why would it not be rated by IGN a 9.5? IGN rates games based on their opinion of how fun it is for a group of no-care gamers to get together go into a game and not care if they get absolutely destroyed or not. For the longest time Halo players complained about CoD stuff, from grenade launchers, to how easy it is to pick up and play, to having too many easy to use guns, now that Halo has put in so many easy to use guns, added casual play, have vehicles which are worse then anything CoD has added, and added forms of things CoD has such as their own version of a grenade launcher and a retarded shotgun everything is fine. CoD cannot do it but Halo can. Halo 4 is only a good game to the people who pick it up and do not care whether they do good or not, but for somebody like myself who enjoys the competitive but also fun side of a game and have it mixed together the game is horrible.

Story is fine I have not beat it but it seems to be pretty good and Spartan Ops appears to be alright, but multiplayer is far from what I visioned Halo 4 being compared to games like Halo 2 and 3 were. IGN rated Halo 4 mostly based on the story and they did not judge anything about the multiplayer from the views of competitive gamers but more along the lines of just how fun it is to pick up and play. Going based off of IGN's reviews for multiplayer games is completely stupid and you should see it in the eyes of everyone and not just yourself. Which is why I told Magneto that it is a fun game to pick up and play with your friends if you just enjoy getting on a game and not caring how good or bad you do and just having fun, but in the eyes of an all around competitive game like the Halo franchise is meant to be it fails in the ratings.

But Halo is also for competitive gamers.. Because I'm a competitive gamer and I do care whether I do good or bad.. Granted that 90% of the time it is good, but when it's bad, I rage quit..

The game is good both campaign and multiplayer.. Competitive gamers still play Halo just as much as people that just want to have a laugh on an FPS.. There are game types for the person that doesn't care about K/D ratio like Flood and ones for those that do like Slayer, Those that just play for XP there'e Domain and King Of The Hill..

You can't say that it's not a competitive game just because people can also play it just for fun..
CoD's never always just been a competitive game.. What do you think all that quickscoping lark was.? Just people taking advantage of certain perks and weapons and having fun..

And you say Halo players complained about CoD stuff.. I'm pretty sure CoD players also moan about halo stuff.. Like how much harder it is to kill people.. How much more accurate you need to be to get the kills.. How you cant just knife someone and have done because there are shields.. It doesn't just work one way..

I've always been a massive fan of both games and never complained about one or the other because I just play the game for what it is and don't moan because it hasn't got something in that I would like.. I just play it and get on with it like everyone else should..

A good game is a good game, if you like it, Great go play it.. If not and you prefer CoD, go play that.. You can't run down halo just because you as an individual don't think it's for the competitive gamer..

Skull, there is nothing on Halo 4 that is like the competitive nature of Halo 3. It is not harder to kill people it is easier if ever. It is actually 100 times easier in Halo 4 to kill people then in any Halo 3, the entire skill base has been removed in Halo 4 and it is not a competitive game. Team Slayer? are you serious? Halo 4 has become just as camp infested as CoD and Team Slayer with ordinance drops with extra ways to die is not for the people who like KD's, the only game type that is for the people who like to play serious is Team Slayer Pro, which is pretty good but its all you can play. Vehicles? Shotguns? Bolt guns? none of this fits into competitive play, I would of had no problem if Halo 4 would of kept the bullshit like Vehicles and extra power weapons and shotguns towards a big team battle type and kept only AR, BR, DMR and nades for regular and no armor abilities. Halo 4 has no skill anymore and as far as I am concerned Halo 4 is no different then CoD and is also a disappointment to many people who had high competitive hopes.

The biggest thing to me and many others is being able to combine competitive play with regular match making in which Halo 4 did not do, and could not do and one of the biggest reasons is 343i did not look at anything in what makes a game a good mix of competition and fun and only tried to make it fun which they failed at. If you like it thats all fine and dandy play it I am not going to nuke your house for playing it, but in my opinion it is one of the worst games I have personally played for match making and one of the only titles I believed still had a skill gap involved in it which Halo 4 did not live up to which kills it all for me.

Also alot of other people share my opinion Skull, the majority of anyone on my list and anyone I talk to who has played Halo 4 has agreed with me and seeing how most of them are heavy duty competitive gamers it is clear alot of people feel the same way as I do.

Also I should mention Skull that the whole purpose of Halo and the reason people loved it is because it was different then CoD, it had a skill gap, skill requirement, and power weapons which could be controlled and it wasn't a huge casually built game. Halo 4 now changes to the casual side of things and yet people still defend it.

I never said halo 4 was like halo 3.. I said it was still a competitive game.. I also didnt say it you needed more skill to play halo 4 than three.. i said it takes skill because its not like coD when you can get lucky one shot kills.. you have to maintain your skill level in order to get a kill..

The only people that wouldn't like halo for the K/D's are people that suck at it.. If you're good at it and can maintain a good kDr then you obviously would care about it..

And you saying a lot of people ahare your opinion doesn't make it factaul.. A lot of people share my opinion like the hundreds of thousands of people that are playing it right now..

The game didn't fail at anything, you just expected too much of it and we're disappointed when it wasnt like Call of Duty but it never will be because it's halo.. Not cod..

You can play any game type competitively.. It's down to the player, not the game.. If you wanna grab an AR and run in guns blazing, you wl die.. If you play tactfully and smart with a BR or DMR, you wi get a good score..
You can't say the game failed just because you play it wrong.. People try and play it like CoD and compare t to cod when it's not CoD.. All it has in common wih CoD ia that it's an FPS

The fact that it's got power weapons is irrelevant because it's halo.. You get ordinance just like you get care packages on CoD and over powered shit like the PP90M or whatever it is.. Everything you say, theres easily aomethng to counteract it..

Just because theres no crappy search and destroy for your try hard dicks on halo doesn't mean you can't play it competitively..
Theres nothing about Halo 4 that makes it a bad game, a disappointment or a let down.. It's just people wanting too much from it and wanting it to be a game it will never be..

I think you are missing my point so I will try again to get you to understand it. When I started playing Halo 3, it was in the majority of peoples eyes a competitive game where skill ruled over anything else. Which is why I got into Halo 3, there was an AR with a BR pick up, power weapons to fight over and a few other casual weapons which weren't that big of a deal. The game was built around a skill base which is what got me into the Halo Series. Halo 4 took all of that and killed it, you have yet to mention the game is purely casual. Which is my point, you cannot mention skill when you got guns like the ones that were implemented into Halo 4. You are missing the entire point that all the additions made into Halo 4 has taken out alot of the skill gap and skill base that Halo 3 had created. That is my point and alot of people who played Halo 3 for the competition and skill gap will be disappointed with Halo 4. I am sorry for going into Halo 4 believing 343i could make a competitive game which would finally take the popularity out of CoD and back into Halo. I am also sorry 343i failed in doing so.

All I can say is no.. Halo is a good game whether you like the game or not..

It is a good game in YOUR opinion and I am sure in others, but in MY opinion, and in some OTHERS opinions it is not. It is a huge debate but what I remember Halo 3 being known for is what Halo 4 is missing.
