A hooded figure steps out from an alley way and makes his way to the center of city approaching a podium in which he makes his speech...
"And through the ashes I shall rise. Rise up from the darkness from which light once existed."
The man closes his scriptures from which he read and glances over the people.
"Some of you that have come today are making your way to the world. Some filled with anticipation for new beginnings, and some filled with hatred for the loved ones you have lost recently. Regardless for the reasoning as to why you are here the paths you choose from this point on begin to paint a picture of your own legacy. Every woman you mug, every loan shark you rob, every hooker you sneak into your asylum to pray on sets who you will become. Some of you will make vengeful decisions which in turn may cost you your lives. Some on the other hand, will take your Mothers or Fathers legacy and attempt to approve on it. You will learn from mistakes or even try a different route from which they lead. Whatever the case, it will mold the events in the future whatever may come of them. As hard as it is to work from the bottom up, keep in mind that your choices dictate everything, regardless of how unimportant they may seem."
The hooded man takes a drag off a joint and continues to preach
"With that being said and the knowledge known, is it really worth beating a dead horse about the past? I know it's a grown custom for those to pounce and criticize actions taken by others. Especially if those actions directly affected your own blood relatives. However, take note that taking time to concentrate on your own self actions and making decisions to better yourself rather then the past that you cannot mold is only bettering the time to shape the future you'd like to see. Now don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with being upset with how things may or may not worked out for your parents, but just know that in overall perspective they would want you to do you. Nothing you do now liked or disliked will change anything that has occurred. Why not make the best of it?"
The man removes his hood and exhales deeply
"If you disagree with how matters are, or how much you would love to have things done your way, then well there is only on way to control that. Rise from the ashes, become a respected Mafioso in ranks so one day you'll maybe be in power to do something about it. That will only happen if the actions you take this very moment allow it to be so."
Stepping down from the podium he turns back toward the alley. Places his hood back upon his head and vanishes from the streets. |
