| An event like V-Day | Started by: AnnieWilkes on Nov 26, '12 00:44 |

It would be nice if it did add a smidge to the winners capabilities in the end. ONLY the winner! |

We generally do monetary rewards for events. We don't like to do things that make players feel like they must play to get ahead in the game. |

I must concur with enkindle. Things like these events are about the fun aspect away from the actual politics of the everyday game, its best to keep character boosts out of such events. |

Though, like in the jail breaking event, we saw the average rank take a rather large jump, because people were actually doing JBs as fast as possible which ranked people up. That alone is fair reward for those that didn't actually win. |

Closest thing we've done to teams is crews. The problem with teams is there's no good way to balance them ahead of time. |

I was somewhat confused there. I've never noticed this reverting to show no sponsors after it had previously achieved all 5 sponsors. |

I love the sound of that enkindle, 'building your own army'. |

Or maybe just have one currency, and have different tiers of NPC quality that are too expensive at first. |

Yeah I had considered that but I think with things like that users need to be able to learn how to build from the bottom up rather than just starting to build and then skip a few processes to the finish mark. |

I love both the last man standing aspect and the army building. Playing something you're used to, but with a twist and at no risk of losing your main character. |

Anything that brings a new dimension and a bit of fun to our world is a plus, in my view. |

Well, let's see what you all can come up with as a suggestion for an event. Another last man standing event could be a lot of fun, but we do have v-day coming up soon, so we might want to put it on hold for some time after that. |

Good point Spike. I have a fear I may miss V-day for the first time. My sister got engaged and is having a party the weekend after Valentines, so if V-day is held then i'm screwed. |

A possible theme for this could be: The Public has gotten fed up with the crime rate lately. They are accusing government officals of being greedy, corrupt, self serving bastards! In response to this, the government creates a "crackdown intiative" This means that coutrywide, criminals are locked up. So us mobsters, being the helpful type, would have to break out those that were unfortunate enough to get caught in the sweep. However there's a catch. You break someone out, you and that person get a warrant out for your death. The FBN will hunt you down and kill you and that person. Incentives are: if you're still alive(and are among lets say the top 100 for breaking ppl out in that round) at the end you make it to the next round, and your jb stats improve. Each round whittles down the number of players until you reach the final 3 and those three win some prize. You can avoid being killed by committing flying around and stuff. The timer should be shortened like you can fly every hour. I know there's a few flaws but the basis of the idea is kind of cool. |

One thing we pitched before but there wasn't enough interest, was quarterly credit vdays. 10 credit buy in, payout goes to the top 3 people surviving (Game takes nothing). All names are anonymous so you are not singled out (but can share names to work in groups), maybe 2-3 rounds so its not an all day thing. |

As a contestholic I love this idea, either in a team (like Squishy said sharing names by choice) or just really as a pure individual assignment. More a theme of "how strong are you on your own" kinda deal. |
