Making her way towards the crowded corner of Grand Avenue and Main Street for the second time that day, Marietta Rossi seemed to have had a three-sixty turn about as far as moods go. The sullen and solemn expressions were replaced with a small smile as she approached a small group of gangsters. Tapping one on the shoulder she tilted her head, her blonde hair cascading over her shoulder as she did so. Excuse me, a moment of your time, please? Several of the other gangsters turned to listen to the woman and with a tiny clearing of her throat she reached into her handbag, pulling out several pieces of paper with large print upon them. Passing them out one by one the words became more visible: Marietta's Protection Program. Looking quizzically at one another one of the gangsters finally had the nerve to speak up. "What does this mean, m'am?" Oh, I'm sorry, I should probably explain! Marietta pooh-poohed in an apologetic tone. Glancing across the small crowd she began to speak. One of my great-something-ancestors lived during a time where there was a problem much similar to this. All of the highest ranked Mafiosi of that time fell, and only two crews remained. Sadly, they were all full. Of the two it was Rhett, the man's name was, who came up with a plan that I am going to adapt to and make my own for today. My idea is as follows: You are crewless, in need of a family for fear of getting wacked by a wayward hitter- despite the fact that Cab_Tufting has already posted something on this subject it has been known to happen due to a large infestation of idiots. As you can see, there is no space left in the existing families. What you do is pony up $1,000. That's right, just a measly 1K. Contact myself or my Right Hand via mail and request our protection. After wiring the money to my account we will place you on a 'safe list' of sorts, meaning you have now become an extra addendum to my crew even though you are technically not living within my headquarters. You add the phrase "Protected by Marietta" to your person, and people will know now not to shoot at you. Why? Because if they touch you, I kill them personally. And I laugh while I do it, too. As a temporary member of my crew, you will be granted this honor. In addition to hunting down your killer, if you die your son or daughter will get back double what they paid as a refund. As we all know, however, no plans are fail safe. So what happens if you get WACK!ed and we cannot trace the killer? I give your son or daughter five times what they paid into. If I find that you or your bloodline are abusing this privilege, I kill you myself and I laugh while I do it. Not a bad start into the world, eh? All the proceeds from this venture will go into a special account, designed for holding money to help future auth candidates purchase their first headquarters. So really, in effect, by joining this campaign you are helping to contribute to getting more families set up faster. Isn't that grand? Marietta gives a small giggle before her face suddenly takes on a cold and damning expression. To the hitters out there: I am damn serious about this. Don't think I won't specially engrave a bullet with your name on it for killing one of these gangsters, because frankly there's one week a month you don't fuck with a woman, and this is my week to shine, children. New crews will be up as soon as possible, pending a discussion between Cab_Tufting, Doyle and myself. Once more I ask for your patience while we solve this crisis. Now is the time to be working together, instead of working against one another. Remember- no wacking anything with a specialized "Protected by Marietta" tag, or anyone that looks to be a fallen member from a previously existing crew. In fact, if in doubt just don't shoot. The only things that are clearly safe are inactive, sleeping Civilians and Gangsters, or the lingering bodyguards of dead mobsters. With a deep breath Marietta smiled once more. I think that's everything I have to say! Pass the word on to all of your friends, alright? Have a good evening. Handing out a few sheets of extra paper to the men and women, she turned on her heel, marching down the Streets to find the next group of Mobsters awaiting invitation into a crew. |

Young Hi stands near the back of the gathered crowd, allowing the established mafiosi to get the better view of the woman who gave him a job. When the voices quieted down, he spoke up loud enough for the other young mafiosi-in-training to hear, but not so loud that the mademen would notice him sticking his nose in their business I applaud your efforts, Don Marietta. This shows that you are able to think outside the box and incorporate problem solving skills with your leadership skills. There is always a solution to any problem. All it takes is the effort and creativity to come up with one. |

Sees everyone gathering around his boss so he gets as close as he can and listens to her speech That is a brilliant idea, after all we cant have a bunch of homeless people with guns running around either that could also turn out bad. Even though the space might not be available I love seeing that we are still taking an approach to protect anyone who could not find vacancy in the HQ. Well I should be off, money to be made. | Marietta with all that has happened, you've come out here an proven that your the kinda Don that is thinking and working for our world. I applaud this temporary solution while I'm sure there will still be those who slip through the net your at least doing something to try and help the situation. | |

| I really like this initiative. Under the circumstances, you and the other leaders could certainly have ben excused for just throwing something together haphazardly as a stopgap measure. However, you took your time and came up with, what sems to me, like the best possible option. Nicely done. | |

Stomping back over with a sigh Marietta fixes a smile at the gathered crowd. I would also like to raise a few points that I have just thought of, before any of these situations should arrive. Yes, if you are apart of the protection program and you shoot at someone I will kill you. No, you will not get a refund. Do not abuse my hospitality and hide behind my name if you are only planning acts of a deviant nature. If you are apart of the program, I would suggest traveling to Detroit before taking a nap or falling asleep for the evening. Not that this will make you invincible, but it will hopefully serve as a warning to those who are looking to wack homeless for shits and giggles. I fully expect all of you to help out with enforcing this project in any way, by turning over witness statements if you should find one of the 'protected' have been killed. You all have my many thanks and appreciation in advance. Now where was I... Wandering off back down the road Marietta mutters to herself. 'I think I'm losing my mind!' |

Pushing his way past Hi the old man calls out to Marietta as unbeknown to him Hi fleeces him for all the lint in his pockets...... I couldn't agree more, an excellent idea to try to stave some of the more trigger happy members of our community for the time being. I am 100% behind this plan and will grace you all with the same generous offer. New Orleans can also be treated as safe ground for the time being. If you need protection simply put my family mark somewhere in your profile and send me the required money. Rest assured, we are working on some more auth's or space for you stragglers but we can only work so fast. Raises his eyebrows at Hi and moseys off on his way...... |

As i share a city with Marietta right you can be assured none of my family will shoot. They have been warned. Consider yourself safe till we can get this problem fixed of not enough housing. |

| Wonderful idea, before hearing this speech I saw someone walking around with a rapidly done "I am protected by Marietta" pin, which - let me tell you - disturbed me quite more then just a bit. Thank god I got word of it before doing something drastic, right? | |

I think this is a great idea.Marietta you have once again proven that your are worthy of your position.Many lives shall be saved by this new endeavor and I salute you for this. Now I know Marietta also talked about paying a 1000$ fee but I am sure she is not gonna refuse people wishing to donate a little more to help them live.Think of it, the faster the money can be raised the faster shelters will be provided. This in turn will help out all the newcomers as well as the existing mafioso out there that are without a family. |
