In the moments before his death, my father spoke of his only regret in life. He spoke of the numbing sadness he felt as the members of his family, along with Caligula's and Mont's fell around him. Whether he was the architect of their downfall is not up to debate here. The purpose of this speech is to honour my late father's final wishes, and commemorate those who willingly gave their lives for the plight of their leaders. Only the members of Branston, Caligula, Mont, Messy and U_Froglike_Plot will be remembered today. I feel it improper to mention the members affiliated with the members associated with the other deceased and current leaders, being the son of one of the aggressors. I apologise from the bottom of my heart if anyone has been either omitted, or bestowed with the incorrect honour. This is based solely on my father's diaries which were sometimes inconsistent, or occasionally even non existent. The Order of the Hobnob - Third Class is bestowed upon members who did not die in active wartime service. They are the members who would not normally be remembered in such a conflict, but being the flesh of any family; I feel it my duty to take a moment to think of those who died for their families.
The Order of the Hobnob - Second Class is given to those mobsters who contributed to the YourMum war effort in an incalculable way. The prowackers, the minor hitters and everyone who actively risked the life to try and swing events in their leaders' favour.
The Order of the Hobnob - First Class is reserved for this who took the greatest risk of all. In shooting directly at the enemy leaders' bodyguards and rankers they knowingly walked into the jaws of death and sacrificed their lives for what they thought was right.
I realise many of you will find this tribute extravagant and unnecessary, but my father noted these men and women as the most honourable, most dedicated mafioso our bloodline has ever had the pleasure and privilege of working alongside; that's good enough for me. I must again apologise for anyone I have neglected to include. The sheer scale of the war, and the staggering number of mobsters have died have made it all most impossible for me to document each twist and turn along the way. Rest in peace comrades, my bloodline has the fondest memories of you all. |

I Cannot believe you are out here doing this... While many of these people here deserve to be remembered... Why not everyone who died? This is really just unbelievable.. You will never earn my respect or that of those who survived this way. Doing this is one thing, But it is also a blatant slap in the face for all of the other's who died that were not in these families. I will not remember those fallen for they are the ones who also slapped those who authed them and those such right in the face. They are the traitors... Rest in Piece to those of Iris, Daera, Marietta, Shagggyd, Doyle, and Cab_Tufting's families who perished during this war. And Nothing to Branston Mont and Caligula |

I don't want to earn your respect. I could care nothing for your respect. The respect of the leaders and so forth is a different matter of course. But even then, earning respect as a whole is a secondary goal here, at best. My goal is to remember those who fought loyally alongside my father and his compadres. I should also like to point out that neither myself nor my father has, at any point, desecrated the dead. He and I have offered respect and honour to the dead, from both sides, at every single juncture. In truth, the very fact that I did not include the dead from the 'other side' proves this point more than any other. Would it not be seen as imprudent at best, and arrogantly at worst, were I to come out here and publicly commemorate and remember the deaths of those I had conspired to kill? I think it rather would. Incidentally, you are sorely mistaken over the point regarding loyalty, Rick. Iris and Daera only came to power thanks the the treachery of certain people against their own families, so to spout loyalty and honour now, but not then, is a double standard at best. And even then, Caligula is the only person who this even remotely effects, Mont and Branston were Crewleader in their own right and owed loyalty to no one bar their members. To suggest and promote anything else is to support the demise of La Cosa Nostra. Nevertheless, this will be my last word on the matter. I did not come out here to pointlessly bicker or sully the dead; and I will kindly suggest that you go elsewhere if this is your goal. |
