I'm not speaking just on the current leaders when I say I've heard CL's wish for individualizing for positive purposes. It's happened for quite some time now. Anything can be abused. The taxes were included in crew stats because one crewleader had a ton of npm's and was setting their entire crew tax at 90%. So you're going to have a bad leader in a bunch at times, then punish them for abusing their members, but don't punish the rest of the people that would use it for good. If you don't agree with it, vote no, but I still think overall it's a positive and great addition.

Not to mention the extremely high support it's gotten from players and such positive reviews.

{You realize I'm not asking for the entire thing to be thrown out of the window, right? I just want a second vote on whether or not to limit a crewleader from individually taxing someone past a certain percentage of their main tax rate. I'm sure in most cases it'll be used for "positive purposes", but I'm simply trying to close the window to it being abused on the other end of the spectrum.}

Report Post Tip

{I've already asked if a system would be set in place to prevent what you're asking and it won't be done. Either this passes as is or it doesn't, but the coders/admin won't step in and limit it, they want to leave it up to the crewleader to do the "right" and "honorable" thing with it.}

Report Post Tip

{So the coders won't code a 20% up/down of the total tax based on rank?}

Report Post Tip

{No they won't}

This for me is the most important aspect. I feel thats the basis of our actual position is to accommodate the user base. Obviously our own opinions come into things too, but overall we have to take a step back and think about what the players views were and if they far outweigh our own then we must consider the idea and its merits.

I can see where Ralph is coming from, there are leaders that could use this measure to punish too much. However I actually like the fact this could be done. Someone that mistreats their members in this manner would likely be found out and rebelled against, which makes the world a more exciting place in my opinion.

I think this idea has a lot of merit and will be supporting it when the vote comes around.

Also, apologies for not getting the description done, as i've mentioned elsewhere I was away on holiday at the time it was due and was unavailable to create it, though I'm glad to see there was such a big interest that it didn't really require a description anyway.

I agree with Warrior completely here. While I feel there are sometimes where we may have to step in and say this is just not for the greater good, I feel like even a positive can come out of a possible negative in this situation. As Warrior pointed out, if a leader were to abuse this it would only serve to cause some friction in our world which sometimes needed. Although I really don't see many leaders, if any, using it for bad rather than good.

Report Post Tip

Aye, I see this working out very nicely. A hardcoded way to penalize/reward players financially will be a nice thing. Hopefully we can get this voted through. Cassiopeia and warrior you guys are on the money with your reasoning. Give the people what they want.

I've thought about this in great depth. I see where PC-Ralph is coming from completely, but I have also come to the conclusion already set forth by PC-Warrior. If a CL decides to abuse this feature, they will inevitably be discovered and things will unravel for them in due course. Anyone in a leadership position with an ounce of common sense is bound to be aware of the risks behind taking advantage of family members.

So, while that prospect still makes me uneasy, I will support the individualised taxes element as on the whole, it is a great idea that will serve to reward those who earn it, particularly if it is based on rank. Thinking of the user base as a whole as opposed to the possibility of tyrannical system abuse, the tangible positives do outweigh the potential negatives and as a result, I will vote yes.

As promised, i've voted For this idea. I still feel there is more good to be had from it than bad. We often focus on the worst case scenario when looking at ideas, and thats not a bad thing as we must consider all pros and cons; but I feel the ultimate con here is the fact that it could be abused by individuals, which would cause a major reaction in itself and so isn't something we need to personally worry about as this would fall to the users to resolve.

The voting for this suggestion has passed.

PC-Cassiopeia has voted YES. [5] (I don\'t really see how it lowers a players choices of how they handle their money. I think it\'s a brilliant way to reward those that are generous to their crewleaders.)
PC-Flash-Fire has voted YES. [3] (Good idea)
PC-DeadlySin has voted YES. [2] (This gives crewleaders more control over who to reward for hard work, and not being forced to reward those who ride on other people\'s coat tails. I like it a lot.)
PC-Lola has voted YES. [2] (Positives outweigh possible negatives; overall, a good addition for the user base.)
PC-SpikeSpiegel has voted YES. [2] (Yeah, should be helpful.)
PC-Sticks has voted YES. [2] (I agree there are cons, but I believe the pros outweigh them by far.)
PC-Warrior has voted YES. [2] (As stated in discussion, the good outweighs the bad here and the users appear to want this.)
PC-Whitey has voted YES. [2] (This is a great suggestion, I think this will be a great addition)
PC-El_Nino has voted NO. [4] (I remain concerned about abuse)
PC-ralph has voted NO. [2] (Cedes more undeserved power to a crewleader and continues to lower the amount of choice a player has with their own money.)
PC-Ter has voted NO. [2] (I can see this being abused.)
PC-Adrian has not voted. [2]
PC-Patti has not voted. [2]
PC-Pratster has not voted. [2]
PC-Asylum has not voted. [0]
PC-Grin has not voted. [0]
PC-Sayyid has not voted. [0]
PC-Squishy has not voted. [0]
PC-Tech has not voted. [0]

Voting Totals, Yes: 20 (8), No: 8 (3), Undecided: 6 (8).

PC-Warrior, it is now your responsibility to write a final summary for the coders and to create/edit the wiki article for the suggestion.
Report Post Tip

So, what exactly am I doing here? Tax rate per crew member? By rank? Any limitations on how much it can vary from the crew base tax?

Report Post Tip

{I thought there wouldn't be limitations permitted, I've voted yes mainly based upon that factor :/}

Report Post Tip

It's for a tax rate for a single user with no limitations that once set ignores the family tax rate. If a leader wants to set it based on rank I'm sure they can set each person at that rank manually as the main idea behind this idea was for a reward/punishment of single users.

Report Post Tip

{Absolutely not on the limitations per Izzy.}

This change is on hold until we get the final summary. (Preferably from the original sponsor)

Report Post Tip

No need for a summary now I guess as it's been put with a change to how it was voted for.
