But I'm sure you're not, you've obviously been around here for awhile and I didn't mean to make you felt like I was talking down to you. Sc0pe, the BiscuitTin was making a point. I understand that you are here trying to support your friend Navy in his very public and obvious bid for auth, but make your points salient and relevant. Nitpicking over the fact that 2 of the people mentioned are Godfathers just comes across as petty. Now on to the matter at hand... Navy you raise a few valid points but for the most point your argument is severely flawed. Your logic is circular and you ultimately end up contradicting yourself several times. You seem to both justify (or at the very least make going rogue seem like a quasi-noble thing) while villifying it at the same time. Which is it? is a rogue a crusader seeking to consolidate the world under his rule or a traitor? Also, the fact that you rogued under this current name as Tatiana mentioned undermines any points you may make. Your current lineage shares a name with a rogue who, along with other rogues of the time, caused a wholesale change in the Mademan authing system. Shortly after the actions of Navy, the leaders introduced the reference system for Mademen. This was a huge iniative and one which will forever be linked to the actions of you and other rogues like Bill_McNeal. To come back under the same moniker and expect people not to keep past events in mind is silly. While I might auth someone who had rogued in the past if I were a crewleader, I would never auth someone who purported to be the exact same person. in fact, I wouldn't even allow someone using a well-known rogue's name to become Made. It simply shows an ignorance of the enormity of your actions. Fool me once, shame on thee. Fool me twice, shame on me. Here are just a couple of the points in your speech that I have an issue with: "1. Your bloodline will forever be known by someone that you have taken over the six cities which we call home and you did it without permission and defied everyone and you were a true rogue." In all my time here I can not remember a single rogue taking over the 6 six cities. This aim is simply a pipedream. One man (or woman) acting alone will not be able to take over our world. The vast amount of forces that are arrayed against a rogue makes this impossible. Every hitter from every family is out to get the rogue within minutes of said rogue donning that bold suit. "3. The only bad thing to roguing, whether you succeed or not...everyone falls eventually, no matter what" I take exception to this statement. Navy, what you seem to be saying here is that the "only bad thing" about roguing is that eventually you die. let's ignore the blatant contradiction of point #1 here and focus instead on the part where you see death as the only negative to roguing. Your words here clearly ignore the betrayal and chaos that a rogue causes. I realize that you have already come out here and said that certian things were taken out of context, that you have rebuilt trust and so on. However, your original speech was ill-formed and considered at best. You cannot expect the public not to react. Your anger at the opposing points raised rather than addressing them in a logical and informed manner merely serves to make you look worse. |
