A Fantom like figure creeps through the streets, hardly being seen by the passerbys. He stands still on the corner and drops the nearly finished cigarette from his lips onto the floor. He steps up onto the soap box to get above the heads of the crowd. I gather you all here to tell you the story behind the mystery, about the man behind the ghost. For those of you interested, stay put and listen, it's a good tale. I hope you enjoy. Fantom_Ghost takes off his hat and lays it on the near by mailbox. I was once just a pitiful civilian. Roaming the streets of New Orleans jumping from job to job, nothing every really kept me motivated at any job, or even in life. I had a shitty, not-so-cozy one room apartment. I shared it with a cat...a cat for crying out loud. September 11th was a weird day for me. I had just quit my job at the pizza place across the street from my home, my girlfriend left me, and to top it all off, a stranger gives me news of my fathers death. That just made my day go even further down the drain. I hadn't spoken to my father much for the past few years; he said his business kept him away from the family. I never knew what kind of business it was, but it turned out to be the Mafia. I never would have thought of my father being that type of person. The man told me that he had been gunned down by a rival family, and that his last request was to keep me out of the business, but realizing that my father was in the mob made me even more interested. The following week I scavenged for money, took out what I had from the bank, borrowed from friends, to travel to New York. I had heard that my father was friends with the Don of New York, Daera. So, when I arrived in New York I began to search him out. I knew it would be difficult to find the man, but it was more impossible than I thought. I finally found him after about two weeks of trying. I sent him a letter requesting to have a meeting with him, and as soon as I mentioned my fathers name, he agreed to the meeting. I was getting kind of nervous as the days past before the meeting, I mean come on, I was about to meet the Don of New York... When I finally met with him, all my stress and nervous energy seemed to disappear. I sat down with him, and we ordered drinks and chatted about my father for a few minutes. After our father discussion, he asked me what I requested the meeting for. I told him I was getting very interested about the business he was doing so well in. He told me that he knew my father didn't want me joining the business, but I didn't care. I wanted to be like my father so badly that I would do just about anything he did. He began telling me about the family that he ran in the great city in which we sat; it intrigued me even further into the mafia. I told him that, with all the information, I was interested in joining his family and devoting my life to the business, and his life as well. He reluctantly allowed me into The New Scum, knowing my fathers wishes. We finished our dinner, and as I began to pull out my wallet to pay, he shot me a glare as if he were saying "What the fuck are you doing..." I froze for a second and looked back at the Don. He told me to put my wallet away, and as a gift he would pay for my dinner. What he didn't know what I slipped some money into his pocket as we were leaving the restaurant. Fantom_Ghost pauses for a moment. Before I continue I need some fresh smoke in my lungs. He lifts his pack of cigarettes and lights one up. I will continue my story shortly. He steps down and sits against the wall of the building behind him. ((OOC: Feel free to post thoughts. Chapter 2 will be coming soon.)) |

Phantom looks skeptical No mention of your own brother in all of this. PG shakes his head but clearly enjoyed the read. |
