Inactive Mapping Started by: VinceNoir on Dec 07, '12 15:08

Inactive Mapping. So if you go to the credit market place you could pay 1 credit for a specific amount of names, times and locations regarding RIA. (instead this could just be a perk)

I was originally going to say about 24 hours for one credit but I've asked around and I think that's a little too ambitious and I'm thinking that it would maybe take too much work away from what the family has to do in-game.

What about this instead:

1 credit = 12 hours (Ability to receive every 48 hours)
(Names, Dates and Locations in the 12 hours that you purchase/activate)

Or

1 credit = 6 hours (Ability to receive every 24 hours)
(Names, Dates and Locations in the 12 hours that you purchase/activate)

Possible
Pros ---

Everyone in the game would be able to purchase in-actives.
It could possibly affect the guns on the game - Even them out. (Those who don't usually shoot might start too…)
It gives lower ranks without info a chance to get their gun trained without having to wait on getting put on the inactive list.

Possible
Cons ---

Everyone in the game would be able to purchase in-actives
It could possibly make it harder for those more committed to training a bigger gun.
It still won't mean that you will get a kill for the credit that you spent.

My pros and cons could be completely inaccurate and I'm unsure if this is a good idea or not because I started to doubt myself a little but it's an idea none the less and some of you may like it. So I will be curious to see what kind of a response it will get; if people would use it or if they wouldn't.

I know I would definitely give it a go if I had the chance because even the best hit squad leaders can leave out a few names at times.

To be honest i dont think this is needed, we have people who already use info answer's, this set gives the account, if used the correct answer set, full vision. A city IA list will be conducted and given to its hitters, so this way it wouldnt cost any amount of credits to be able to race for I.A's.

Report Post Tip

I think this would take away too much of the work that is required to become a hitter.

Report Post Tip

I agree with Flash, to a point. At the moment, this wouldn't take that much work away from being a hitter. Most hitters are spoonfed IA's from the IA list, and all they have to do is copy/paste a name into the search function.

A part of me is saying "Sure, why can't people who haven't been granted an IA list get a few hours of IA hunting?" but then on the otherhand, if they aren't trusted with an IA list, they should have to work to get their IA kills.

Report Post Tip

Isn't there already a tip that tells you about the next IA?

Report Post Tip

There is a tip for that but what VinceNoir would seem to like would but more an IA list that could be purchased with credits.

Report Post Tip

I don't think that should ever be considered. The work put into making an IA list is very tough, but it should be that way for a reason. Simply buying a way to view a list is terrible, and there is a way to tip to find IAs if you're that desperate.

Report Post Tip

So what do you do when you recieve a DurdenMapping? Do you turn your nose up at it?

I think terrible is a harsh word for what this is as I'm simply just trying to think of ideas that improve the game in my own eyes. I have no problem making an Inactive list and I don't think that desperation comes into it(As you can buy kills...they are called MIA's).

So you can pay credits for kills. You recieve lists in other areas. Yet you think this is such a terrible idea...

I don't mean to have a go at you Spike, but I was a little disappointed when a PC member comes out with such a weak response. What is the reason for an IA list being so tough?

I thought that I made this suggestion in such a way that it wasn't just as easy as buying a whole 7 days worth of inactives. You have to actually spend a lot of cash on this and as I suggested it could instead just be a perk like Durden Mapping.

Report Post Tip

I do not believe the admins would agree this. IA's are free kills for a reason. Not to mention other reasons that have been brought forth, such as this taking away from the work it requires to be a hitter.

Report Post Tip

While I am not a fan of this idea, I do take exception to the fact that it has been quickly shot down as 'terrible' and 'desperate'. With respect, this isn't the most constructive of contributions.

I agree that this idea would undermine both the work required to become a hitter and the sense of achievement behind building a cannon. It is respected precisely because building a gun takes work - lots of work.

Furthermore, I support the manual method of putting together the IA list for qualifying members as it means that a) anyone who wants access must earn it; b) it provides an extra role and responsibility for the person/people who compile the list; and c; it promotes the privilege of building an amazing gun in the first place.

I do not see any desperation involved with this suggestion, however. You either race for a free IA and win/lose, pay (I'm highlighting this because paying for a kill isn't exactly a new suggestion) for an MIA which again isn't guaranteed or you spend some time hunting tagless civilians/ID rolling. We have plenty of options available to us - I think Vince was merely offering something else into the mix, as everyone else does in this forum.

Report Post Tip

Durden mappings aren't easy to get and can only be used for the duration of the spawn unlike your idea that could be used daily.

MIA's are limited and for a good reason, your idea would give you the opportunity to go for as many kills as you can go for depending on timers.

Family/City IA lists are a way for players to control slightly who is training a gun, not every gibbon should be able to train a gun that can kill someone who has worked hard.

Report Post Tip

You bring up a good point on the Durden Mappings and MIA's PC Flash. I completely agree with what ya'll are saying. I just thought that this idea wouldn't actually give any joe nobody a chance because I believe the hard work is actually being online and taking the time to race for inactives.

Though it's all good because that's why there is PC staff, if the idea doesn't suit then we don't vote.

To be perfectly honest I wasn't actually aware of the tip for the inactives and if I had of known about it I probably wouldn't have suggested this, because you can simply do the same thing with that apart from flight restrictions.

{I'm with Lola here, in that as PC members, I believe we can completely refrain from some of the supremely negative and rude comments that have been said towards people's ideas, not just in this thread but in some others. I really don't want to hear people or their suggestions being ridiculed anymore. If you don't agree, state that, but let's refrain from calling them stupid or terrible or any other negative words that you may think apply that are derogatory and unhelpful.}
