One apple, how many eaters ? Started by: The_JesTer on Dec 12, '12 10:52

Well my suggestion is a simple one.

When a hitter races for a Ria or any target, and more often there are more then one hitter racing for a particular IA. So what I suggest is that when when you start wacking a target, there can be a small window on the wack screen giving "numbers" of hitters, hitting that particular target at that instant.

This can be sort of fun to know that how many hitters you beat and during wars there is always someone proing and other one triyng to wack a particular target so it can be fun.

Cons: Well cant think of any.

One of the old ways of knowing someone else was racing was the blocked shot message.

Was there a reason this was removed I wonder? Would be intersting to know if this idea would contravene something that the admins had worked to remove.

Quick input, might be thinking this wrong though.

Let's say there's a big war wouldn't this number give away shot times and such? Let's say you're refreshing on an enemy. Then you can determine if you are the only one going for him or if this person have proers going for him. That would make the attacker more aware of if s/he needs to be extra alert. Not sure if that made any sense...

you still get the 'someone stepped in front of your shot' notice from time to time

I believe the 'someone stepped in front of your shot' notice was not removed. The wacking system was somehow revamped to reduce double kills and the such and this reduces the number of times you see the message.

As for the displaying of the number of hitters racing for a particular target. Well, if it is kept only for the IA's, I wouldn't mind, but for reasons already pointed out by Rascal,if this feature was enabled for all races, you would seriously compromise the little mystery left in wars.

Ah, I had thought it was removed. Thanks for the clarification!

I don't like this idea because it doens't seem that realistic. You never really would know how many people are gunning for someone etc. While it's cool to see stats when the rogue gets killed, I don't think anything like that should go near RIAs, while they're still alive or after.

Report Post Tip

From a purely code standpoint this is not something we can pull off. At the rate people wack there's no way for us to keep a rolling count without severe server load. (Even on the new hardware.)

Also, I kind of expected something 4chan worthy in this idea going by the title.
