Suggestion is to list everyone and the reason why they can't be invited if they can't or an invite button if they can.

If theres a worry of privacy, I could make it so that's limited to crew members.

With the new implimentation of the OC toggle - I personally Don't see a reason for it to be crew limited.

Report Post Tip

I think this is a fantastic idea and would also eliminate the need for auto canceling OC's when people could be asked about how long the other OC they are currently in will take.

Report Post Tip

I like the idea, though I do feel it does make things much simpler when they don't necessarily need to be this simple, but it makes it more organised. The clue in the name suggests this crime should be much better organised than a simple click of a button, having some interaction and seeing a reason for why people aren't available will help this move forward as it should create interaction between people; e.g. you see person x has no open felony, contact person x to advise of the crime being done and to hold their felony timer.

Report Post Tip

I agree with both of you. Not only does it make it easier - it creates a situation where you can better oganize people.

It's always a huge chore trying to organize people and having them not know why they can't be in the OC

It also creates a situation where you can be more effective in your organization by getting people to cancel their OC's so you can utilize everybody and do multiple OC's in a row. Which is a gigantic headache as things are currently...

Report Post Tip

Again if this is implemented it should only show those from the same city as you if they can't accept the invite.

For instance your from Boston doing an organised crime in Chicago, a Boston member who has done a felony would show with "Timer not ready" but a Chicago member without an open timer wouldn't show at all.

Report Post Tip

Why though Flash? If people didn't want to be seen then they would have their OC availability toggled to off, as Whitey said. I think if you could see everybody it would encourage conversation not only between cities (Godfather's and CL's should be doing this in their cities/families) but between the userbase as a whole, especially those of them who don't use IRC at all, or as frequently as some others.

Report Post Tip

I wouldn't support this as a family/city only thing. That is a bit ridiculous. You have family/city chat to organize and there would really be no need for this in that case.

Report Post Tip

The reason it should be limited to city members is because people won't go around with OC invites turned off until a war breaks out which leaves them vulnerable to being found during preparation for a war.

Report Post Tip

If everyone is so concerned about this and going to limit all of these OC changes to family/crew only, then there is really no point in changing them as you can just use crew/city chat to figure out why people can't join or to organize them without any info from the OC screen.

Report Post Tip

I agree with Cassi, no point in it being implemented if it's going to be restricted so much. If people are that bothered about being spotted, then they have the option to go around with OC invited turned off. You say they won't, but that's their own choice. You can still see anybody in the city you are in (given they are of the city you are in, or your home city) with an open felony anyway, so it's not going to take any stealth away.

Report Post Tip

This change will add an exploit to the game, you would able to see everyone online from that city and yours regardless of vision or stealth. There is currently no need to go around with your OC turned off if you are constantly doing felonies then hold it when asked to join an OC by a family member, with this change you would have to keep it turned off & have to turn it on every time they want to join an OC.

Report Post Tip

Then that is the choice that each individual user will make. For those people that don't want to be seen like this, they would turn OC invites off, and then if anything, increase the communication between them and other players, asking where they are, or what city they are in.

I can see the problem and where you are coming from, from a stealth and possible exploit perspective, and if there wasn't the ability to turn OC invites off, then I would 100% be against this idea, as there is no, I don't see a problem with implementing it and the people that are uncomfortable, to turn invites off, and promote communication between users.

Report Post Tip

Please go through and make sure I get the final summary of the features already passed so that we can get them coded in. Lets put all discussions for features on pause until we can get the older stuff taken care of first.

Thanks!

Report Post Tip

This is a delicate scenario.

I can see Flash's stance with regard to the stealth aspect, but I think that encouraging the community as a whole to interact is the bigger end game here. Whilst I don't feel entirely comfortable with people having to tick the OC option off, perhaps there could be another OC toggle to only shown when Felony is open? This invaliates the issue of having to turn all OCs off, and also removes the concern for stealth folk showing when not available?

Just a thought, I know thats tagging on an extra aspect but I see that as the only solution to the above issue.

Report Post Tip

I believe along with the being able to invite people before their felony is up, we could add a toggle that would allow the players to choose whether it be to just crew or to everyone. Again, that would be the only way I would support this feature, if we're going to be limiting it to crew only.

Report Post Tip

Would we need both toggles? Or just the one? I don't feel there is a need for both as we could stick with just Cassi's and folk were then only to be seen by their crew if they so wish.

By doing this, I presume being seen by all with the reason you can't be invited would be automatic and the user would then use the toggle option to simply amend this so that Only crew can see them under this new system?

I'm sorta thinking out loud here, but I see no issues with that format at all really. The toggle option allows those concerned of stealth to be able to hide from people outwith their crew, removing the stealth concern.

Anyone else got some fresh views on this?

Report Post Tip

As long as a person's name is manually typed in and it doesn't give a direct answer as to if a person is in the city... then that could be fine.

I could see it working with inviting anyone, not just from their city or family, so long as it doesn't give up the location of someone. An extra toggle could be for this sort of invite, if it needed to give a response saying invite sent or something.

Report Post Tip

If we're all in agreement for a toggle for the limiting it to crew only, then I will set this for a vote.

Report Post Tip

I think we're getting hung up on something rather silly.

Why do we even need a crew toggle? I mean granted, I'm fine yeah throw in the extra toggle if it helps you sleep at night or whatever

but it's not needed.

1. You only see people you can actually do the crime with. (you will only see the person if you're in their home city)

2. You won't see them at all if they have the toggle on. (so even if you are in another person's home city looking for their locals during war/takedown if they've turned off OC invites they're safe anyway)

So realistically let's think about how this feature could be used to find someone's locals.. Basically - only if they've felonied/joined an OC already. That's a hell of a lot of criteria to reach in order for this feature to be used in order to hunt someone. You must be in their home city. They must have their OC invite's open. They must have either felonied or joined an OC. They must be online. Is that 1 in a million circumstance worth arguing over??

TLDR: If you wanna hide from people we already have a toggle. But if it makes you feel better throw in another one - by all means.
