Original Suggestion Thread: Auto-cancel idle OC by Vedder Suggestion Sponsors: PC-Flash-Fire, PC-Lola, PC-SpikeSpiegel, PC-Warrior and PC-Whitey |

This one is pretty simple. The suggestion is basically that after a certain amount of time of inactivity on an OC, it should be cancelled. This benefits people because sometimest the mastermind logs off, etc etc. It also would solve a problem for people who are under Made, and can't actually quit out of an OC on their own.
I think it's a good idea. I dunno what time frames you would have in mind, but I think around 20-30 mins would be fair before the OC was cancelled, if it was completely idle.
Thoughts? Suggestions? |

I'm not really a fan of this. Its easy enough to get the link to cancel yourself out of an oc. |

Can WG and below not cancel an OC, even if they are given the link to the OC page? |

They can if they are given a link and it's easy enough to get one from someone made and up. Especially if those people are trying to organize a crime with you, which is usually the only time someone remembers they are stuck in one. |

An alternative would be to simply include the OC menu choice for those wise guy and below, so that they can see when they are in an OC and can cancel being a part of it themselves rather than having to ask for the link each time |

I would support something like that DS rather than the auto cancel. |

I would change the time from 20-30 minutes as originally suggested to maybe like 2 hours or something?
You say how easy it is to send a link, but many times the fact that someone made and under (especially new players) may be in an OC doesn't come to mind
People are very quick to run their OC and I can't tell you how many people have plainly missed out on it simply because they were new and didn't know they were in an OC.
The button IS an option. But maybe that could go in enkindles 'things that bug you' thread - instead of a whole new suggestion. Really frustrates me when we find a better solution to a problem that a suggestion is trying to solve - we vote down the original suggestion then nobody ever writes up the suggestion we all agreed was a better option. Really just trying to keep us from treading water here |

I just don't like these lazy suggestions. If there was a way for wise guy and below to look at an oc screen, I would support that. Organized crimes take organization... The ability to have it just cancel by itself after a certain amount of time sounds silly to me when you can cancel out of it yourself. Forgetting will also not really be an issue if we pass the suggestion to be able to see why you can't invite someone. |

I think if the above suggestion of the ability for WG and below to see their OC activity is done, then this would make the suggestion here redundant as teh only need for it to Auto cancel is because you had no ability to cancel. |

If I saw the reason for another person not being available is because they're in an oc already, I would not assume and just by pass them. I would ask them how long they were going to be. Hence the organizing part ;-) |

I do prefer DS's suggestion of simply amending what WS and below can see with regards to OCs. Normally, I wouldn't condone anything that empowers WG and below, but I see this as a suitable, more simple alternative to the above suggestion and would sooner sponsor it. |

I see no reason why a Wise Guy shouldn't be able to have the Organised Crime link and when they click it when not in an OC they get a screen that says something like "You don't have that kinda pull to organise a major crime." |

So is the idea to amend this or vote as is and resuggest wise guys and below having some sort of OC screen if this doesn't pass? |

I would suggest vote as is then if it fails we could vote on an OC screen for below mades if the vote doesn't pass and put that in the vote summary. |

I don't see there being a point to voting on auto cancel, as Made and up can cancel anyway, and if the screen is added for WG and below, then they can too. It solves the problem the idea is creating, but in a different way. In the end, they achieve the same result. |

I agree Pratster. I would rather amend the suggestion, than vote just to fail it to make a new suggestion. |

I would be fine with amending it to allowing WG and below have the ability to see a button to get out of the OC they are in. |

Since it is clear nobody would vote for this suggestion, I agree to amend it to add the OC option for WG and below. |
