What does wacking accounts have anything to do with this? That made no sense.

Because people shouldn't have to be paid to do something that is part of the game.

Well I still haven't seen anything that would make me want to vote for this idea, however I see no reason for a limit if it does go in. However why is there a need for this, if you want to give someone money for a good post you can do that in the banking options and send them a mail explaining why or better yet role play it into a response to the post/thread, why does this need to be hard coded?

Wacking doesn't have anything to do with this, I was using it as another option. You said why should a feature be needed for this, in other words, why have it hard coded in, right?

Why have NPC's and the like coded in, they never used to be, and people would just kill regular IA's. It made perfect sense.

The game progresses, the user base progresses with it, and features are coded in to allow it to progress in the direction the coders/owners think would be good. For me, the way a coder actually suggested this in the first place, says it would be a good idea if it got the nod from the representatives of the userbase.

Regardless... Amounts need to be reached so we can vote. We're running out of time. Arguing about nonsense doesn't complete the task.

it should be a dropdown with varying incriments.

I suggest: 5k, 15k, 30k, 50k, 100k.

Either that or just let them type it in with no limit...

There was also talk about giving praise using keywords.

"I had discussed with someone the idea of making keywords that you can choose to give the person "Well Written", "Hilarious", "Brutal", "Nice Effort", ect. And you can choose which ones to give them, each has a cost (that can be determined later, the person paying could maybe choose, I don't know.) that goes to the poster. We would show something like a small "Praise x7" for each post and if you mouse over it would show something like "Hilarious x3, Brutal x4".

I still really like this idea. With this option I would be okay with having a small dollar value attached to each phrase. 5k per keyword. This gives some more depth to the 'praise' idea while limiting the 'paying for posts' setback we seem to be facing.

I'm just going to set the vote for the increments that were set in the opening topic of the post if we cannot reach an agreement, as we have 9 days left to finish up what is here.

Report Post Tip

I now don't actually think there should be limits either way. Allow the users to set their own limits on what they think the post in worth, or what they can afford.

An input box similar to the banking transfers would work fine in my opinion.

We can vote multiple times if people don't like the summary that is initially being voted on. (Unless there isn't the time for that)

Since the discussions have stalled and we are running out of time, I'm going to set this to vote with all original settings proposed by enkindle in the opening post and opening to this thread.

The voting for this suggestion has passed.

PC-El_Nino has voted YES. [4] (No reason given)
PC-DeadlySin has voted YES. [2] (I still think this is a fantastic idea. Yes, you can do this the long way round, but part of this suggestion is showing OTHER people the rewards paid for a post, therefore encouraging them to try from seeing others doing well.)
PC-ralph has voted YES. [2] (Not ideal, but it's a start.)
PC-Sticks has voted YES. [2] (No reason given)
PC-Warrior has voted YES. [2] (No reason given)
PC-Whitey has voted YES. [2] (I want to remind MOST of you that you agreed to go for this idea over DeadlySin's. This is now our ONLY option to stimulate the BD. Keep that in mind while voting please!)
PC-Cassiopeia has voted NO. [5] (I feel like there are better ways to promote role playing without paying people to post. If you really want to send money to people for good posts, why aren't you doing it now?)
PC-Flash-Fire has voted NO. [3] (I still see no reason to hard code this, if you want to give someone money for a post or thread then send via the bank.)
PC-SpikeSpiegel has voted NO. [2] (It might be a bitch to code in, and there are other ways using RP to do this.)
PC-Lola has not voted. [2]
PC-Patti has not voted. [2]
PC-Pratster has not voted. [2]
PC-Ter has not voted. [2]

Voting Totals, Yes: 14 (6), No: 10 (3), Undecided: 8 (4).

PC-DeadlySin, it is now your responsibility to write a final summary for the coders and to create/edit the wiki article for the suggestion.
