| Bribing a Bodyguard | Started by: Tinky_winky on Dec 31, '12 22:21 |

Ok this is a very different idea to the game that i think would be amazing to add, Basically if someone hasn't trained a bodyguard for a while (in weeks) they can be bribed by cash by another player, This doesn't mean you automatically get a the bodyguard if you offer 100k ( just and example) the bodyguard has the opportunity to refuse to work with you. If the Bodyguard refuses this would mean that the person who owns the bodyguard would get a personnal say that so and so has offered cash to your bodyguard which could be fatal for the person that has offered the money up. The reason i think this would work in game is because people have so many bodyguards in this world of ours at the moment and some don't have the cash to have the upkeep for them which therefore i believe a real bodyguard in rl would not behappy. i hope people would agree as i feel mthis would benifit the game |

Nah... The HP is set up the way it is... to handle stuff like that.... They become less effective when you don't pay for the upkeep. I don't think other players should have any other way to bother with them. |

I agree with Spike's view, however, I am still intrigued by the idea. |

Ahah. This made me chuckle. It does really sound like a mobster sort of thing to do "Hey Joe, come work for me, I'll pay you better." |

While the idea makes sense, I just don't see it working within our... game... at least the way we have it now with bodyguards.
It would make it too easy to buy out someone... who had built up a lot. |

Spike, I think it would have to be based on neglect. If you have bodyguards at 15/50 skill (hp) and someone tries to bribe him, that could be fine. But if you try to bribe a guy whos BGs are all 100% upkept then they would tell you to fuck off and let their employer know they were approached. |

I think the HP/Skill already reflects their loyalty pretty well as it is, and I don't think money should translate to something similar to BG waving. |

Actually, I suppose this would have to be only dead players. You can pick up their BGs before they die. And it would be a gamble unless you knew the player to ask how his BGs were. |

I think the issue to consider here is the idea that this did and still does happen. In all aspects of life. Loyalty like all things can be bought. The problem is do you want to see some young upstart come along and load themselvees up with money to try and bribe (basically) thier way into a position of power. |
