Twirling a pen in his hand as he walks, a young man approaches the streets. Little about him stands out except for his green eyes and his attentive listening. When others are finished speaking, he poses a brief question. Very recently, I lost a good friend. I had known him for 13 years and, even though he was old, I was still shocked and terribly saddened by his death. I suppose that one should be used to it in this thing of ours. Many of us are lucky enough to have never experienced a war, but nearly all of us carry the history of our bloodlines. All of whom, I would hope, shakingly attended the funeral of someone they held very dear. Was it a CL? RHM? A friend? A lover? Did the circumstances make it easier or harder to accept? My question is this: What is the greatest loss your bloodline ever experienced, and what made it so terrible Burying his grief behind the emerald armor, he stares out at the crowd to see what others have to offer. |

Listening and nodding as the speech goes along, ProphetOfDeath steps in to talk. My greatest loss in my bloodline was that of a good friend. And yes, while we are all used to death it was the circumstances that made it difficult for it was I who had to be the killer as well. It was a terrible feeling but it had to be done. I am not proud of myself and I made sure his child lived on well afterward. ProphetOfDeath slinks back into the shadows. |

| I lost one million dollars in a few minutes of high stakes blackjack. That was a fairly harrowing loss. As far as losing people is concerned, you become numb to it after a while. Not only is this a damning indictment of me as a person but of us as a community. Would I change how things are to a more hand holding lovefest given the chance? Would I fuck. Death keeps things exciting and finite. Mortality is the consequence that defines us as people. | |

I lost my sainted mother. ~Kisses rosary~ She was a great woman who followed this life of ours. She always had a meatball and a cannoli to hand out to the starving mass of hoodlems that followed me home |

I lost my secret dinosaur lover. Briana pours a 40 out onto the sidewalk. It was not well publicized, but ThesaurusRex was my own personal cunning linguist. Underneath those scales and somewhere in that cold-blooded heart of his was a burning passion for my goodies. |

| The greatest loss my blood line ever experienced was when my great-great-great grandfather was personally responsible for the protection of a crew leader during a war. Sometimes when you fire your weapon - even in acts of defense, things go wrong. My ancestor accidentally killed the crewleader while trying to defend him. This loss was devastating as is but what made it worse is lack of the crewleaders kin to get upset. Not even in the slightest. Yes - what made it worse is that since there was no anger, no exchange of words, nothing - what was left was this insurmountable amount of guilt. This guilt has been passed down generation after generation and still exists in my very own flesh and blood. | |

Just now I have lost another one of my secret lovers, Rick_Roll. We were in the throes of rapture and Rick shot a little early and apparently got hit in the crossfire. Briana pours out another 40 for Rick I'll have trouble replacing that one......he told me he was never "gonna give me up." Briana cries |

I think everyone has lost a loved one in the community. Someone they really and truly cared about. Sadly it comes with the territory. Lights up a smoke That is why I now keep to myself and have purchased a blow up doll to keep those cold nights a bit warmer. |

Marietta approaches the crowd, noticing the speaker is one of her own. She knows that the man, Keats, recently lost someone close to him so bows her head in respect and waits until everyone else has spoken. When at last a lull in the conversation has been met, she holds up her hand to draw attention. I personally lost my fiancand four of my closest friends all in one weekend. It hurts, but as VagInATube has already said, you learn to become numb to watching your friends and family die. Why? Because if you do not move on, you do not live. Physically or spiritually, that is. You allow yourself a small amount of mourning but if you continue to grasp onto the memories of what 'was', you will never be able to progress and see the future, or 'what will be'. There comes a time in every mobster's life where you experience a moment like this, and I truly believe that is what makes or breaks a man. Or woman, for that matter. To dwell does not do a heart, nor business, good. As far as my bloodline goes? There is not a death among my family tree that I still mourn today. Why? Because there is always someone else to come after and walk the same path. Every time one of my ancestors has died, another one has stepped up to the plate and has joined this lifestyle to fill the void the best of their ability. For every loss, or 'failure', there have also been just as many births and successes. Once again, to spend your time mourning and moping can only serve to build a stagnancy within your own bloodline. |

The greatest loss my bloodline ever experienced was when VagInATube's crew was mindlessly butchered by his own staggeringly poor ability to gain auth. RIP VagInATube. RIP. |
