| MIA refund amount | Started by: Frank_Sinatra on Jan 13, '13 01:28 |

The amount you get refunded should be linked to the going rate of a credit on the marketplace. If credits are damn near 500k and you only get refunded 300k you're still losing damn near half what you paid for it. Just an idea. |

I don't see why not.... It happens so rarely that you get the money that it is... Might as well just equalize it to what current credit prices are... if not make it more than their current value. |

It would also be nice for Squishy to buy us all Ipad 64s so we can play MR 24/7, its just not practical. MR is very finely balanced with regards to Money in vs money out. We all work so damn hard just to keep those who protect us IWP and our HQs very strong. Increasing payouts anywhere could upset this fine balance with potentially disasterous consequences. |

You hit the nail on the head there Raoul...
You can't have more money coming in without more money going out.
You can't have more money going out without purchasable upgrades that cost in game cash and make your life easier.
Nobody wants those because people will 'swipe a credit card' and have an easier life on MR.
It's really a catch-22... Can't have more game cash cause no place to spend it.. can't have any place to spend it cause people will obtain more game cash via credits.
But if you think about it, having more in game stuff to buy probably WILL make people buy more credits, driving the prices down... while at the same time would allow the administration to introduce more cash to the game. More cash, lower credit prices, and more buyable features... Yeah that sounds awful. Just food for thought folks. |

My initial thought on this was "Yes" for a few reasons; As Spike already said, it happens so rarely that it's not going to offset the game's economy that much, if at all to a noticeable level. I was always under the impression that it was actually meant to be like getting your money back, however, if it wasn't, then fair enough. Also, to Squishy's point about keeping the game's economy sane; is it sane? Credit prices are currently just shy of 500k, and nobody is buying them, and pretty much nobody is really selling them, I wouldn't personally call that a sane economy, but meh. After thinking about it, if it doesn't happen often enough to effect the economy, then what's the point in implementing it? I don't believe there would be a point, unless it actually effected something or changed something, seeing as it doesn't, my viewpoint changed and I don't really agree with this anymore. That's not to say it's a bad idea, because there isn't a problem with the idea, it's just slightly pointless. |

I think it wouldn't be a bad idea just because of how... inflated credit prices are anyway... but if it seems unreasonable and is only mean to help offset the cost slightly, then I understand. I would never argue that pettys, felonies, OCs, or anything like that should go up... this is kinda just like a random event... etc etc. |

I think its a bad idea also. The 300k is a gift, as Squishy said its not simply "heres your credit back" or he'd have done it in that manner (though Cash is better for the RP side imo anyway). |

I don't think that much, but I would be curious to know the statistics of it. |

In the previous 30 days, we have given out $30,066,000 - roughly a million a day. Increasing the amount would require we take equal amount of money out of the game, any suggestions on where to remove extra money from the game without it hitting the wallets of non wackers who don't benefit from it? |

I understand your point Izzy. Even though it's still a small percentage of MIA's, the money still has to come from somewhere. Perhaps another option would be rebalancing out how much is given, perhaps randomizing it? So that instead of 300k ... some guy might get 50k... but another might get 600k (all keeping it within that same budget and the same amount of occurences). Is that something people might be interested in? |
