Casino Troubles: Roulette Isn't Clockwork Started by: SpikeSpiegel on Jan 16, '13 11:41

Well, I’m sure most of us have had a few losses at the casinos. Sometimes you might’ve been set back a few hundred thousand dollars… perhaps a few million… perhaps more. Well, this tale of four young boys (two being the spawn of Satan) begins on a night not so dissimilar to whatever night this is. In fact, this tale happened this same night, only moments before. These three boys were on a mission to break people out of jail. While that alone is a dangerous enough volition, they also needed a way to finance this.

Well, one of the boys named Condemned happened to be doing pretty well at a certain casino, and he had also inherited some money. He started the embarking of their journey by setting a crackdown for the other boys to do in the lovely city of Philadelphia. I happened to be one of them.

So there was me, that is Spike, and my three droogs, that is Vincent Volaju, Remy LeBeau, and Condemned. We all were having fun busting out gods and CLs and the like until Condemned became weary and decided to go to bed. As he was our financier, having won quite a lot from the roulette table, Vincent, Remy, and I were left with not too many options as we were lusting for some more snatching… from jails.

We decided to go to a casino, and while I had the most money, I lost it all in a very short amount of time. Luckily, it went to my benefactor anyway so I didn’t feel too bad. However, Vincent and Remy also had the same run of luck. We spun that wheel an innumerable amount of times until ultimate failure was reached, and our pockets were torn and empty with excessive reaching and want for some coin. We all ended up walking into Jaqen’s house whining about our losses. I didn’t even have enough to fly myself out of town.

Jaqen being the generous type sent me a generous sum, as well as other money to the other two as well. Vincent sent me his share, and we had just enough to get our fix of crack… downing. However, things took a slight turn. I found myself at the roulette table, chasing it, that something. There was a certain fire burning inside me, and I was up almost 50%. I kept chasing it, but like a nymph in a forest, it kept evading my grasp. Seeking a more immediate rapture of funds, I switched to the most deadly of all games, blackjack. Within seconds, all of our money was gone, and hysteria ensued. However, this laugher soon turned to sadness. We started talking about becoming prostitutes. Vincent did not want to return to that life, and Remy was not ready yet to be broken in.

However, like finding a lucky quarter next to a slot machine, one gentleman from a city known for shrimp and topless women, decided to help us. He gave us our crack… down… one last time. We rolled around through the different security levels of the jail until it was all gone, and we were full of joy and eternally grateful.

The story isn’t over yet my brothers and dearest friends! I was granted a gift of a sum that was just enough to get us another jail! But what did I do? I went to the casino of course and made all the money back that had been lent to us by Jaqen, save for Remy’s share. I gave Vincent his share, and he soon lost it at a similar blackjack table. But we seemed to be on the up and up.

However, it was late, and we decided to part ways. I flew to Detroit, and found myself with some money that I quickly put in safer hands… Remy flew to Chicago and found another jail to fill his addiction. And Vincent… Well, Vincent, last I heard, was scoping out the alleyways…

A fine piece, my friend. Casinos aren't talked about enough.

consulting an ancestors journals, I see he won around $22M from the late Romans casino in one sitting,  but that overall, the bloodline best known for street speaking is also a world leader in losing at blackjack.  More than once, an entire shipment of credits from IRL Enterprises has been blown in a single sitting at the tables.

casinos aren't run we'll. the owners should interact with customers

Thanks. I feel that they're a big part of this world, but as you said... they aren't talked about enough. Perhaps more people will follow my example.

Public speaking isn't something I do too often. I know one of my great great great great etc's things was just reopened on the streets, and that sure got him in trouble... So it's nice to hear some positive feedback even though I know he got more positive than negative feedback for that speech of his...

I've heard some wild stories concerning winnings. My ancestry hasn't had anything that high. I know my ancestry made it in the mid teens of winnings... From the late Roman's however, I don't recall him telling me he did too well though I'm quite sure he really would've loved to have.

It would be nice to see more interactions between casino owners and their addicted visitors. Perhaps some owners might consider some public contests. I remember hearing about some in the past.

Spike an very interesting story and I have seen first hand that you like a flutter, seems you have been more successful in the Detroit casino than you may have been elsewhere.

You both talk about casino owners interacting with customers and one idea would be public contest but how else would you suggest that us owners interact with our customers?

I'm disappointed my name didn't feature more prominently in this story, considering I was the selfless gentlemen, unwanting of recognition and credit, that bought you fiends your crack.. down!

All in all though, it sounds like an eventful night!

I manage to do well sometimes... Depends if it's a hot night or not, but thank you.

Contests are the easiest thing that I can think of at the moment. It benefits both the owner, and at least the winners of the contest. As for anything else, it's not that easy to suggest things for it... The numbers of the casino's should be kept private, for the most part, and there isn't that much to discuss. I decided to run with an anecdote, but that's because it's uncommon to see. I doubt there will be many others like it, but who knows.

Ah, well, I was just playing off your generosity and selflessness, leaving you simply as the "one gentleman from a city known for shrimp and topless women." You did get us our fix after all, and you wouldn't even accept some sort of service from us, even though it was offered! What a lovely person!

Casinos are overated in my opinion, I myself would never set foot in one....unless I was told i could return ;)

Them dreaded tables be a trap, I tell ye!

Ye olde smart man knows to be weary and tuck in while ahead.

When I was but a young buck, I too chased, and by statistics with a casino owner, Im still down. Forever will be. But its that rush, seein all the chips come your way, then the depression, and the massive drinkin, because hell, the house is payin for it! Comes full circle to bite you in the ass, yarrr!

I wish I had the gusto in me to continue the journey, and perhaps the tale would have ended differently. But it is what it is, and boys, we had fun, so cheers to that!
