Casino Ban Started by: SpikeSpiegel on Jan 17, '13 01:19

So, I was thinking, why don't casino owners have the option to bar users from entering their casino? In a real casino, you win too much, they just won't let you in the door. etc etc. This could also be used for the inverse, say some guy has bad credit.. goes into debt blah blah. Might be an option worth considering.

It can also add to the RP aspect of the casinos ... slightly I guess.

Its a good idea, and i think High Stealth players should have a chance of their names didnt appear in the cassino records, ive never owned a casino but i think when someone win a message arrives in the owner hand right? for example xxxx won 100k after playing slots... My idea is that high stealth players have a chance to make a message like this arrive in the owner hands ''an unidentified player won 100k playing slots... so they can play a lot more before being banned. IF only IF casino owners receive such a message them my idea could me implemented too. But SpikeSpiegel idea is pretty good by it self.

Well, Generally I'm a huge fan of hard-coded features to assist in roleplaying..

This isn't entirely something I'm behind right now simply because you can already do this by saying 'hey, come in my casino again, I'll fucking shoot you'

Which If I'm not mistaken has happened in the past?

and have a chance to cause a war? no! they dont need to shoot anyone to keep they away from the casino :)

It's a friendlier way of doing it. It's not just to assist in roleplaying. It helps casino owners keep out the really high winners, or losers.

I'm with Whitey, why does this need to be hard-coded when you can just tell that person not to come back?

Firstly, the majority of the casino staff are going to just be regular people, not mob guys. I don't think you should have a mythical force that prevents people from entering, because that isn't realistic. Take "Casino" as a pretty good example of a mob backed casino, albeit one a little out of our time period. Joe Pesci's character is blacklisted from every casino and he can be arrested just for entering, yet because he's a big deal in the mob, they can't just turn him away at the door as that might cause even more problems. Robert De Niro's character has to go and see him personally and get him to leave.

This is how it should be with ours, deal with the consequences of your decisions, don't just let the game do it. You don't want someone in your casino? Tell them not to come back. If that doesn't work, arrange a sit down with their Capo. If that doesn't work, go to their Boss and if that doesn't work, your options are pretty limited. Either way, there are lots of intriguing scenarios that can come out from that.

its not a mythical force Donbot, its security guards.

Whilst the suggestion has merit, if the Mob thought you were winning too much, they'd just have beaten the living snot outta you and dumped your body, or if you lived told you not to come back.

I agree with Whitey, if there is someone you don't want in your casino then tell them you'll shoot them if they come back. If this leads to a war, then so be it, that's what would happen in real life if a particular CL took umbrage at their member being banned or shot for ignoring a ban.

Report Post Tip

If you are unwilling to tell someone they are no longer welcome in the casino in a mobmail or a conversation with your/their boss, then perhaps you are not cut out to own one. We should not put in polite little buttons to avoid any kind for back-and-forth communication that could potentially require someone to be assertive.

Squishy you've explained my feelings better than I could've :P

While I think there could be some improvements for the casinos, this isn't necessarily one I'm a fan of unfortunately.

Report Post Tip

Yeah, he's right. After thinking over what he said, I think that it should be kept to RP.
