Controlling the game economy Started by: Arkangel on Jan 22, '13 02:50

Well, everyone knows that adms fight to make our MR economy balanced, so i have a suggestion that would help the adms in parts! not in the whole thing!

The point here is that these prices, every thing prices make no sense, If we are in 1920 things would not cost hundred thousands of dollars because in 20's a 10$ bill was like 100 or more dollars today.

A solution for our economy is cutting down two on prices, for example a BG cost 500,000, serious, in the 20's 500k was a fortune and who would pay a fortune for a henchman? it makes more sense if we cut 2 zeros, so, the BG cost would br 5k.now you see the diference :) 445,000$ have been removed from the game and its now make more sense if we focus on the age.

its a huge ubber mega change because it would change all the prices and money generators AKA crimes, but would remove a lot of cash from the game and keeping the same value, there are 2,140,000,000$ in the game, 2 billions? if we cut 2 zeros we would have 240 millions and bang! 1,9 billions removed from the game :) Now as i said everything that cost some money should have their value divided by 100, i think i dont need to say all the prices lol

PROS:

100 times less money in game, RP/RL improved.

CONS:

Cents would be needed if someone pickpocket someone and get less than 100$ for example if you pp someone anget 45$ in this new chage it would be 0,45$ dollars (cents are a probleme) so my solution to this con is simple, the new minimun amount of money you get from pps is 100$ = 1$ in the new economy.  And another con could be the drug prices for example 5.865$ in the new economy it should be 58,65 dollars then my solution is simple remove the cents from the game. Seriously, who sell drugs on cents? again the RP/RL factor :)

AND A CRUCIAL CHANGE WE GOT TO REMEMBER! in our bank accounts there always will be numbers like 1,689,345$ in the new economy this represents only 16,893.45 so this 45 cent would be turned in 1 dolar, to finaly remove any cents of the game :) in crimes, the cents should be romoved too, for more or less thats need to be discussed.

The changes are, cut 2 zeros of everything value and remove fractioned numbers AKA cents of the game. Less money on the game, more RP/RL factor :)

As i said its a fucking giant solution for the Big amount of cash we have but it would take a lot of time and work.

We're not going to start changing the value of currency. It has been argued before. This is not treated like depression era dollars. It is a game, and the economy fluctuates on it's own.

Report Post Tip

yes i imagine that, its just a way to reduce the amount of money in the game :)

Report Post Tip

it doesnt really change anything other than how the currency is displayed... it doesnt take money out of the game at all, it just decreases its raw value while keeping its true value exactly the same.

I have heard talks in the past, from admin, about making changes something similar to this, so I wouldn't say it would never happen. I think this would be something that would be for the admin to decide, if it is a route that they would like to take. Thank you for the time you put into this.

thanks Cassi!

I like this change, simple reason being everybody since I have been playing complains about realism, oh a Don killing some random gangster isn't realistic, having 200 BGs isn't realistic. Whatever the case may be the simple part is if you want to make things realistic this is step one. I know it may look weird at first but its like the new interface we got whenever it was, it was weird and people didn't like it then 2 weeks later people adapted to it and liked it. I would like to see this change if the admins feel it would be good.

Report Post Tip

I don't think it's a change that can be made... in the middle of the game. And yeah... doesn't actually make the money... less... just the numbers seem smaller... and then prices for things would have to be dropped... but credit prices would remain just as high ratio wise.

Report Post Tip

yes, i see your point Spike... a change like that should be very well discussed, and the little details too...

Report Post Tip

I don't think it's something that can be done... or should be done. It would just confuse people and not actually affect the economy at all.
