Passing the baton - an RP Competition

Saturday April 13th, all day.

Each city will be competing against each other in a battle of wits and skills while participating in a city level crowd sourced story.

To be eligible to win, there must be at least a minimum of 11 people, consisting of at least 2 CLs or upper structure competing and representing each city.

The users will each take part in adding onto their previous writers story with a minimum of 500+ words each, with the end result of a city created story. (Think a tiny book, with each author contributing a chapter)

There is a pool of mafia themed words that will be assigned to you in real time. Your opening line must use the opening word and your last line must use the the ending word. (You may modify the word for tense, possession, pluralization and so on)

Your first writer hits a button that provides them with their starting/ending words. They will now start their story in the appropriate thread, starting off their story by using the opening word in the opening line. When the writer has finished and posted their part of the story, they pass the baton over to the 2nd author, who now clicks the button and gets a new word. This continues on with each writer in your group until the last one, who does not draw a word, but instead uses the very first opening word for the #1 author, as his closing word.

The previous authors ending word is now the next authors opening word.

The competition lasts 24 hours to make it easier on your writers and their time zones. You can start whenever on 04/13, and end whenever on 04/13.

Prizes have been set aside for all 4 cities for this event. In the event a city does not participate, their prizes will be split among those that do enter. In the event that a city participates but does not qualify (not enough writers, or doesn't finish in time). Their prizes will be prorated based upon the effort put in and the remaining will be distributed to the other cities.

The pool is of 30 words, which means you may have up to 29 entrants if you so please.

The prizes will be substantial and will greatly help the city as a whole, as well as the members who participate. This game was founded on the art of storytelling, this is a skill that I really look forward to heavily rewarding.

The judging will be done by 5 people that do not play the game to remove all chance of bias.

Each entry must be 100% written by the poster, any proxy submissions will result in harsh penalties.

There is a pool of 30 words, and a mininum of 11 people to participate, you can choose to write additional stories, as long as it is all tied in and wrapped up before the 24 hour mark, and that there is at least 11 different authors. You can add more authors, or authors may choose to do more than one "chapter" of the story if you think it will benefit your overall story.
