One of my best friends' bands is currently entered into a competition to play at Download festival in the UK this summer, and to get some studio time with Red Bull. It's a facebook based vote and they're doing pretty well at the moment, there's 100 bands on the shortlist, 8 make it to Download and 15 get studio time, and they're currently 19th.
