That would be a perfectly fair change Deadlysin,  instead of a +1 they are just awarded by seeing the opponent deaded.  Sounds good.

I see no reason why you shouldn't get a +1 for a duel, especially if you're having a duel during a war. It's not like it's being abused to ridiculous proportions that will have someone gaining significant gun skills. In my eyes this is no different than getting someone to join a crew so they can be shot under 48 hours without getting a -1 to their gun stats (or getting them to drop from a crew).

Every time someone uses duelling to kill someone and get +1 instead of risking wackback death to get the +1 is abusing the system. Any abuse is too much.

People should have to weigh up whether the +1 is worth the risk of wacking back or not, which is why I believe there should be no gain to your gun from using it.

Dueling is for gentleman, if they want to settle a problem this is a good way to do it! Using the feature for anything else means it's being abused to better an account.

If someone joins you and you shoot them, at least it puts an hour on to shot timer. This is why i made this suggestion, so people can't just +1 without using a timer.

I'm going to give a thumbs up to the original suggestion and to DeadlySin's.

When it comes to anything that can be abused, I'd rather see it fixed before it is. A little or a lot, doesn't matter, it's still abuse.

Even setting abuse aside, a +1 to your gun should set back your timer. A kill is a kill right? Why should this kill be any different? Either way you are using your gun to take a life, whether it be an actual person or an IA. Take a life, take the time. Or give up the +1 and just duel for honor with no change to the timer. I have things I do and don't like about both these options, but that's a different topic all together. Either way both are the better option than getting the reward without putting in the time.

I have to agree with DeadlySin on this one. I don't think a duel should give you a +1. I think it should only be used to disputes against players and not to have the possibility of beating the system.
