Seems like the only way this guy will see a crewleader as "good" is if they speak alot in the streets. Sometimes thats not all that matters. |

Look seriously, i don't know why people think crewleaders need a street prescence, whoever put that into peoples heads is an idiot. Some leaders are quiet some are not, simple. It's about the way you run your family and the decisions that you make. Real life mafia bosses would rarely speak out, except for a certain few...Most would have the associates do that for them, so stop blaming leaders for not letting the outsiders know about there personal business. |

You're right Newton, we don't HAVE to. Although, the streets are the HEART and SOUL of this entire place, I would've thought a street presence should be at the forefront of their minds. |

"Only down side is his RHM. Obviously a "coffeeshop friend" because I couldn't possibly see any other way that incompetent fool could rise to become RHM. His pointless remarks in the streets and complete disregard of his bosses policies show this guy, im assuming out to be the muppet he really is. Also feel that he may do a "DD" and let the power go to his head. Only time will tell." Yes yes...and my bloodline has shown time and time and time again that I am a power hungry tyrant. Perhaps my little friend here should do a little more digging before he get spewing at the mouth again. To those that know me...thank you for sticking up for me during my "absence". |

True, but who are we to blame them for not partking. To be honest i think that, if i was in your position i would encourage my family to take part in street debates etc... You can't exactly put it down to one person, who as we know already has stuff to do. I'f your family were out doing it for you, isnt that much better than just the boss coming out and the rest of the crew sitting quietly in the back. In my eyes it would reflect a much better family and a much better family leader. The leader has to take control of his family, not control of speaking on the street to impress everybody else, not that that can't be included, but you know what i mean.. lol |

I could tell some stories... about his family, his dad, his sister, his dog... he uses them all about his ambitions about how he runs his coffeeshop like his personal kingdom... But most of all, I can tell you ALL about the terrible tragedy that is his addiction to heroin....and how it destroyed his life. |

Newton, if a leader isn't active in the streets, what sets him apart from others seeking auth? I suppose one qualification would be working hard for the family, above and beyond everyone else, but very many people can fulfill that qualification. There has to be something that distinguishes the candidate from the many other auth-seekers. That thing is street presence. As SWYW said, the streets are the heart and soul here. If a leader isn't active, why would anyone else want to be? Most people dream of running their own family some day. A requirement of having a street presence serves as an incentive for them to get their butts out here and participate. There have been quiet times in our history when that was the only thing getting people talking. Whoever thought of it was an idiot? I disagree. I'd say they knew exactly what they were doing. By your logic, I guess it doesn't matter whether or not ANYONE is vocal in the streets. What an exciting place this would be... |

I don't want the streets to be inactive. And i'm not saying that crewleaders shouldnt be active in the streets, just that the leader shouldnt have to be very street active to be a good leader. Although i know what you guys are trying to get at, a good leader should be able to impress most everyone, if thats what there trying to do. To me, it just feels as if your pushing leaders to be the ones to come up with all the topics and be everywhere at once. |

I've been away for a while, but after reading around it seems to me that SWYW is the biggest boy on the block. It also appears that SWYW wants CLs to be street active. I KNOW that SWYW isn't above shooting CLs for being mutes. If I were a CL about now, and wanted to remain that way, I'd be making an effort in the streets. As for the original comments, these threads are ultimately pointless as they are invariably written by someone with an axe to grind, and age old grudges that will affect their judgement.. if not, why are they always written by thugs? |

I think you need to be seen in the streets if you are any sort of Crewleader. I'd also imagine you've insulted a lot of people by denouncing anyone who believes and condones this theory as an idiot. But that's by the by. My point? Leaders lead, it is what they do; leading by example is one of the most effective methods of leadership. If my leader told me not to duel, but he did it, how do you think I would react? Well, actually, I'd not duel regardless of my leader's actions because I'm old fashioned like that; but I could imagine people thinking "Why the hell shouldn't I duel when he does it?" I can't envisage a different occurance if the dueling was replaced by street presence. Moreover, leader's have an obligation and duty their own family first, and then the community as a whole, I've yet to find someone to dispute that. |

I agree with much of what the last few people have said.. The leaders should lead and set example for the rest of us to speak in the streets. I think that everyone certainly appreciates when they come and explain what is going on behind the scenes in the world. After or before a war for example. Though I don't think it is completely necessary for the leaders themselves to come out to explain themselves to us, I do think it is acceptable for the RHM or other family representative to come and enlighten us. But I do believe they should have some street presence. I do not believe that anyone should blatantly disrespect leaders or their RHM in public places. |
