The clouds separated and the sun beamed as Luger walked casually down the streets. Dressed to impress with a style that probably matched others though no one could wear it, better he set off to voice some thoughts that the spun in his mind. He stood near a soapbox. There with him was a small gathering of people that started to form while he was walking towards the box. He then took a step upon the soapbox as the crowd circled around him. Seen by everyone, he started his speech with an "Ah-Hem" "Hello everyone, glad you could all take a bit of your time to hear me rant." He paused as the crowd mumbled a bit in confusion. They wondered why they had come to hear him. He began speaking when they quieted down. "Okay.. As I was saying! Earlier today I heard a man spoke on how much the streets have changed for the better when I thought, 'why was it ever on the decline?' What are some fears these streets can possibly hold? We could pinpoint these out in order to expose and avoid the major silencing from happening again." He looks at the crowd and hears some people clapping in agreement. "As a kid growing up in this world; I've heard lots of stories and myths about the streets; hardly did I seek advice of it. So here's advice for you kiddo, these streets can make or break you. If you say the wrong things then you're in the wrong but if you say the right things you could be considered along side with most of the other Hall of Famers as a "Great Speaker." "So my questions to you is, what makes a great speaker so great? And what advice could you give to keep future speakers inspired?" Luger turns the spotlight over to the next person to voice himself as he stands back and listens. |

That's an interesting question, Luger. I'll see if I can adequately provide my idea of a "great speaker". Arterom quickly clears his throat as he begins to speak. Our minds are a constant flurry of shit and gold. I can't speak for everyone, but the majority of the people I've met on these shores aren't stupid. However, they either haven't practiced properly translating thought to speech or can't quite send the message they intended. When you encounter a good speaker, you hear what you've already been thinking but couldn't say. When you encounter a great speaker, you hear what you haven't thought of yet. These speakers not only eloquently outlet our thoughts for us, they provide a means of opening or engaging our mind as well. Just because people can do this, however, doesn't mean you shouldn't talk to them, or approach them, or call them out on bullshit. Because if you don't practice that translation from thought to speech, you'll never improve. Plus, even the greatest speaker can be dead wrong. It's important to regularly engage people in the Streets, or we'll all just end up dull and meaningless. |

*Stepping up to the worn soapbox ,nervously reminding himself to speak in English ,Milan scans the crowd gathered in the street ,very few familiar faces but those he recognizes nod their head in approval ,others are pressing closer to hear what is about to be said , "Welcome my brothers and sisters of the Street ,As I arrived on these shores I had great dreams of filling my fathers shoes ,Most of you have no idea who I am or where I travelled from but let me assure you I'm here to stay and to garner the respect of the families of our great city , and in return I offer a vision ( and tribute of course ) . * A few chuckles can be heard through the crowd "What can I say to inspire you ? What words of wisdom do I offer to make our lives and our wallets fuller ,Just this follow the advice given to you ,No one will intentionally lead you down the wrong path as your success is all of our success , As we take more neighborhoods and defend the ones we already own YOU will get what has been earned whether it be power ,money or respect if you have earned your way it will be yours my friends . Pour prendre ce qui nous revient! Let not the struggle be in vain for we are here for the very reasons our fathers and their fathers came before us , to take the dream of our family and make it a reality ! ,Thank you for your ear and look for me in the street I know i will be seeing what your doing ,will you see me ? * Stepping down Milan lets out a deep sigh thankful that no one has shot him in mid speech, drops his hat low over his eyes and strolls off with the swagger of a man who hasnt a care in the world ....................... |

I can't agree more with this Artorem. A great speaker is someone who can lie straight to your face and make you believe him. A great speaker is someone who can begin a war for no reason what-so-ever and still give you a valid explanation for his actions. A Great speaker doesn't just Manipulate, he can inspire people. He can point out the thing's wrong with the world that everyone is thinking but no one else has the bravery to say it. A great speaker is a leader, a visionary, and a poet. He is someone who can talk nonsense but you will still stop to hear what he has say. That Luger, is a GREAT SPEAKER. My advice to those who have the potential to become one of the "greatest" is just say what you think is right. Do it in a respectful way so that people are not offended but your point is across. |

Luger had been listening to the men as they spoke, nodding his head in agreement. He then tipped the men for their great inputs fore his outlook on Great Speakers had shifted. "I nearly forgot that great speakers don't always have the greatest intentions. Thanks for pointing that out! The ability to influence other people effect this world of our's deeply. Just as fresh new faces set out to join a crew or become associated, they are either persuaded by higher ranks or known by their father/mother past. My advice for speakers still in learning; learn persuasion." Luger steps back once more to wait for whomever cared to share a few words. |

This reminded me of a quote. Let me share it.
It is very true that great speakers do not always have the best intentions. Even so, the thought of censoring someone or even requiring an individual to submit their posts before posting turns my stomach. No matter whether it is good or bad, each person should have the right to sink or swim by their unedited words. It is their words, their thoughts, after all. |
