Who's side are you on anyways? Started by: Cassadaga on Apr 30, '13 04:22

Cassadaga storms out into the streets with her hands bruised and knuckles sore from mugging a rude mafioso in the middle of the streets of Philadelphia for invading her personal space. She notices a crowd of people and simply loses her cool.

Why do people insist on touching myself & others when we have plenty of crooked officers to practice our pickpocketing on? It doesn't make sense to me why I would invade somebody's personal space and especially when we are all partners in crime. If I get done raiding a trucking depot with you there is no reason to try and swipe $5,000 out of my pockets. One of these stupid police officers are much easier to practice on. Men, as well as some of you ladies, have no business putting their hands on me... at least buy me a drink first ;)

Cassadaga walks away feeling relieved yet wonders if this was the right place to let this out...

Keme watched as the girl furiously walked out back onto the streets. Overhearing her angry tone of voice, she spoke up.

"My guess, is not that they are truly interested in touching you, but that they are more interested in seeing if they can get through your horde of men in suits that follow you. That is where the true excitement lies, trying to even reach you, not so much the few bucks they can grasp from you."

Keme gave a small shrug and then had to head back to her headquarters. She gave a nod goodbye and waved down her driver before making her leave.

Cassadaga overhears Keme's response and listens and it all starts to sink in...

As Keme said, it is likely people want to test their ability to dance past your number of guards before touching. That doesn't alter the fact they shouldn't be doing it, though. I noticed you took the trouble to have yourself sporting a tattoo showing your displeasure to being pick pocketed and that should be warning enough for these people to leave you alone. Still, as your knuckles can testify, you have the right to mug these space invaders as a form of retribution, so I don't understand the anger that yourself and many others feel regarding the offense.

I personally love to pick pockets. There is no challenge in robbing a simpleton Officer, nor does it allow me to interact with others in our world by doing so, so I choose to pick the pockets of my fellow mobsters. I do this in a playful manner, though, not for the riches it brings. I always steal from one pocket and drop the money into the other pocket, as it is purely for the fun and interaction with others that I practice my skills, not to deprieve them of their hard earned cash.

So let me ask you and anyone else who wishes to respond, why such a distaste for the art of picking pockets? There is a bank on every street corner to ensure your money is kept safe. If you catch the person in the act then you can rightly beat the shit out o them for retribution. If you don't catch them, then I can understand the frustration the not knowing brings you, but is it enough to get upset over? I've never felt it was. Maybe its because we Lannisters are a wealthy family and I've never had any need to worry about my Coin, maybe I don't truly value the Gold that I have? I don't know, I hope you can help me understand the deep rooted dislike for the Artful Dodgers of our world.

PoisonOak takes a sip of the drink handed to her and takes a deep breath.

I love to pickpocket but I guess it's just the utter disrespect for the said sported tattoo that drives me wild. If you have such a desire to touch a woman then learn how to dance or play a guitar. Leave me alone! Hehe, I stick to rummaging the pockets of these pigs in blue. I can completely understand your point Tyrion. Thank you for clear and concise explanation.

I think it is simply because we are mobsters, we will do everything in our power to make money, what doesn't make sense to me is returning what you get, what kind of mafioso does that?

Oh excuse me sir, i just stole money from you....    Oh really? well thank you for telling me i feel you have become a better gangster.

It doesn't make sense to me to send it back, it defeats the whole point.

But that's my view i know for a fact people will agree with you Cassadaga and some people will agree with me.

Personally I hate pickpocketing. I can understand doing it while one is still a civilian and has just entered this thing of ours, but for the love of God we are mobsters. Elite criminals and businessmen. We run highly profitable businesses and operations that bring in a lot of money. Why do many of us then feel the need to do pick other peoples' pockets like some bums?

Report Post Tip

I dont see nothing wrong with pick pockting some one, but if that person you pick pocket is sporting a tatto that says "I will mug you if you PP me" then that person has all right to retaliate with a mug or a PP back, but I wouldn't go as far as bothering your leader about it or trying to get that person in trouble, witch I seen a few do, thats why if PP is not your thing, I would tattoo not to do so, so others can see, so when they do you can retaliate with a mug or PP, because you stated you dont want to be pick pocket for what ever reason. some people do it with good intentions like for fun and to try to get through your body guards not just for the money, but you can look at it this way too some people just dont want to be bother and why would you want some one to see close how many body guards you have right? but then again thats why its good to sport the tattoo, and just retaliate in the same way, because I dont see it as breaking any rules. some see it as disrespect but as far as id go to retaliate is a mug or a PP

Cassadaga, I enjoy Picking Pockets as much as the next guy or rather more than the next guy. However, I am not one of those people who 'respect' the thoughts of the person they target for their pilfering.

I go out of my way, at times, to pick the pockets of a Gangster who says 'PP me and I'll send a bullet your way' just to see if he carries it out. Guess what? I've been around for quite some time and I have yet to be shot at. Of course, I would be lying if I was to say I would do the same to Godfather SammyGarcini because he is in a much more powerful position than me. I respect the power a person holds, not his/her personal opinions no matter how forcefully stated. Maybe if you waited a bit or until you got Made or even became a Don for Chicago, these kind of attacks will stop.

In your current state, I will not hesitate to Pick your pockets one bit. If you think you have been wronged, you are free to mug me, if you think you can handle the blowback.

Basically, I don't see the sense in respecting someone's views if they are powerless to have them enforced.

In Elijah's response he brings up the aspect of not caring of what you think. In Keme's response, she enlightens you with the aspect of finding out your own personal protection scheme. Is the flag of Insanely Well Protected status really true or not? Your enemies will always be watchful of your status and mindful of it. If they can sneakily get past your guards, they are not really in the need of a mere 5,000 dollars. Seriously, who cares about 5k anymore with the aspect of competitions and other handouts given out by the leaders and the Gods?

The biggest thing that you should be mindful about is people simply don't give a fuck. Elijah said it best with "I don't see the sense in respecting someone's views if they are powerless to have them enforced". People really don't care of your own wishes when they know they can get away with it so easily. Whether it be because they know they're own ability of stealth, or they are much higher than you on the totem pole.

If I were you though, I would stand by my own perspective of the situation of pickpocketing and set an example for others to recognize and appreciate that you mean business.

Report Post Tip

It could be said that since you havent made your bones yet, your wishes are meaningless. A friend of his doesnt carry the weight of a friend of ours. People are going to steal from you regardless of your wishes, or how many tough guys you employ. What it comes down to is how you react to the situation.

If you see them, mug them, or if you dont wish to mug them, inform your Sponsor, or your crewleader. Every city has rules in place about being pick pocketed.

Report Post Tip

I personally agree with Elijah and it is also just 5000$ we make more then that in one drug run.
