I recall seeing something like a noticeboard in M2 and I am not familiar with what happened and why the whole project was dropped but I really liked the idea of having something like a crew announcements on the side of your screen.

Now one thing I always found annoying was the constant mails I got for WS requests. Not because I didn't want to help but sometimes(now a perfect example) my inbox got so full of WS requests that I barely could find my normal mails. Or sometimes I had no normal mails for myself at all just a bunch of mass mails mostly being WS requests which was always disappointing because I can't help but feel excited seeing my mail flash thinking yay someone wants to chat to only find out that isn't the case. Also what I found troubling was repeated mails for the same WS request. Shit just gets annoying.

So instead of jamming up our inbox's could we instead have something just on top of the crew chat called "Crew notices" Where the CL, RHM, LHM can post things like WS requests and anything else they deem important. Also so that doesn't get full and I have a bunch of text at the bottom of my screen, limit it to like 3 lines of notices. So instead of getting all these mails I can just see it all in this notice box. Also this would be really helpful when using my phone because sometimes just loading a single page is a nightmare but now as long as I got one page loaded I can see what important things are going on. No one will be able to say "Oh I didn't see that forgot to check my mail" or whatever excuse when it comes to things like this.

I am sure the coding for this could be quite difficult(don't really know computer programming much) but I am going off the assumption that something similar to this was done already for M2 so the coding would be saved somewhere and only needed to be altered a little(correct if I am wrong)

But yea anything to limit the amount of mass mails to my inbox would be nice :)

Essentially this will just be like the current crew chat but just above it and only CLs and hands have access and instead of staying on screen for only 15mins they can stay for 24hrs or more(maybe provide a selection of choices when it comes to duration.)

I'd like to hear everyone else's thoughts on this. If it isn't too much of a hassle for the admins then it would be nice to have

I think there is more pressing matters at the moment. I would say just not to get your hopes up that people wan to chat with you and just open the mass mails and then delete them. If you want to make sure people are always chatting with you, then maybe you need to reach out to more people. :)

Hey I like this idea too, but yeah.. I also don't see it as a mandatory thing. Generally the mass mails I get are pretty important so I don't really mind reading them then passing it down the the rest of the crew. But yes, this is a cool idea!

A lot of features around here that were brought in aren't mandatory but I think were a great addition just because they are soo cool. For example the ctrl - right click on a name on the online list feature. That did not need to be brought in at all but I am glad they did because I really like it and makes navigating through the site just that much quicker. Just like seeing important notifications instantly by simply scrolling down instead of having to go to my mail (which can be a drama on my phone)
