| The only real difference i see is that alcohol is illegal in prohibition. And of course the role play. Wouldnt it be a simple adjustment to instead of alcohol being sold in the drugs list, to replace it with pain killers? Historically painkillers and pill popping really started taking place in the 50s and 60's in housewives and business men right? The roleplay that is already taking place would then be justified. | |

Also, the only place alcohol is mentioned is one line of the drug- and that's grain alcohol, not normal spirits. As far as I know, grain alcohol still isn't sold in some states, so I could be wrong. I assume things were stricter in the 50s/60s as well. |
