The message had been delivered to the clinic at some ridiculous hour of the morning. The messenger was a young boy, no more than 11 or 12; and he arrived carrying a dead cat wrapped in a ratty, worn blanket. Moira recognized the message and who it was from before the boy even spoke. About three days ago, she'd seen to a young, rookie officer for the NYPD, and he'd seemed quite smitten with her. Moira would never mix pleasure with business- least of all with a cop- but she used it to her advantage and flirted enough with him that he was eating out of her hands. As he was leaving, he asked her for a date, but she side-stepped the question, trying to dimiss him gently. "What's the matter, Miss Hayes? Cat got your tongue?"
Sleepily, Moira shook her head, trying to seem sympathetic to the child. "No, I'm sorry, lad. I only fix people. Leave him here, though, and I'll see to it that he's buried proper. And come back in the mornin' so I can give you a rabies shot, aye? Tell Al to bring you right away." The boy nodded and turned. Making a face, Moira stepped back inside the clinic with the stinking, dead animal in her arms. She walked straight through the clinic and to the back alley where she unwrapped the cat, took a written message from the blanket folds, then tossed cat and blanket out into the dumpster. She read the few words scribbled on the paper and her heart sank, her blood running cold. Feds know about Diamondback. Possibly have tipped off Durden. Stand down for now. With the quickness of fear, Moira runs up to her apartment above the clinic and changes into a black dress and pulls on a shawl and a black scarf over her head. She leaves the note partially hanging out of a drawer beside her bed and scrambles downstairs. Its nearly 3 a.m., and she heads down the block toward the HQ. The faster she could get to Paul and let him know, the better their chances of defending the family would be- from the Feds and the Durdens, if necessary. Quickly rounding the corner, Moira slammed right into the chest of a tall, strong man in a dark suit. Stammering, she sprawled back, barely keeping her feet. "Pardon, sir- didn't expect anyone out and about this time of night." She tried to move around him, but he stepped right in front of her again. Right at her eye level, she saw a shiny, silver badge on his overcoat. She didn't make eye contact. "You're in a terrible hurry, miss. Anything we can help you with?" "N-no, thank you, officer. I'm heading to the funeral home- I was just told my brother was killed; murdered in the street. If you'll excuse me, I need to go and make his arrangeme---" The officer cut her off, and she found herself surrounded by three other men of equal size. "I don't think so, Miss Hayes. I think you'll be coming with us." Before she could even start to fight her way out, one of the men grabbed her and gagged her, then herded her into a waiting vehicle. |

Alcatraz was drinking his morning coffee, reading his usual paper, at his office at the HQ. Life had indeed become busy after he had become a button man in Paul's crew, and yet meaningful. He had already made plans for the day, which included a flight to the other side of the country and back. He could not think of one way, in which this day could go wrong, not even remotely. He was interrupted by a soft knock at the door. It was one of his associates, telling his that there was a little boy asking for him. "What do you want, kid? You have some nerve coming up here. Now run along before you hurt yourself." The boy looked a bit scared. "Miss. Moira sent me to fetch you. She says its very important." Moira never called him to her clinic before. He assumed it must be something really important. He ordered his associate to bring him his jacket and left the building at once. He hailed a cab to town, to Moira's clinic. He found the door open, and he figured that Moira should be in. "Moira? Are you there?" His voice echoed through the building. There was no answer. He checked all the rooms in the clinic and she was nowhere to be found. This was strange. Moira never left her clinic door open if she wasn't in. He climbs the stairs to her apartment, and opens the door. She wasn't in there either. He was beginning to get real worried. He began examining the room. A couple of things had been knocked down and the bed hadn't been made. This was not right. Moira had always been a bit of a neatness freak. She definitely was in a hurry to get somewhere. A little piece of paper sticking out of the drawer caught his eye. He picks it up and reads. His eyes go wide in shock as he reads the words written on the paper. He runs out of her apartment as quickly as he could. He gets into a nearby phone booth and phones Paul's office in the HQ. Paul's secretary picks up the phone. "Hello Lenna, it's Al... Did Moira come to see Paul today?" "No.... Why d--" "Is Paul at the HQ now?" "Yes..." "Tell him I'll meet him there in fifteen minutes. And tell him it's really important." He comes out of the booth and waves frantically for a cab. He finds one and orders the cab driver to step on it. The words on the paper kept crossing his mind over and over again. He finally reaches Paul's office in the HQ all sweaty and panting heavily. Paul looked concerned. "What is it, Al?" "It's Moira... She is in some kind of trouble. She had asked me to meet her at her clinic, but she wasn't there when I went. And I find this inside her apartment." He hands the piece of paper to Paul, who looked as shocked as he was when he read it. |

A sudden paleness comes over Paul's face as he reads the note and reaches into his coat pocket to retrieve his timepiece. "This can only point to trouble. Thank you bringing me this Al, we have much work to do." He says briefly before examining the time, his hands nervously fidgeting with the apparatus as he looks around the room, his mind flooded with ideas as a plan begins to take shape. "I understand business relations with the local Federal branch lately have been, for lack of a better term, sour. They seem to still be irked at not getting their cut from tributes last month. I never quite thought of them as the type to stoop so low as to involve the low-life Durden gang to reach their ends, but to each their own I assume. All the same, when they make choices like this it means they are fair game to the rules they have been exempt to up to this point." He walks over to his desk and has a seat behind it before opening a drawer and producing a large ledger with names and addresses corresponding to various numbers. "It looks like it might be time to call some of my friends from the local demolition unit to help out. I'm sure they'll be more than pleased with the opportunity to practice their skills in the field once again, especially on the Feds now that they have lifted restrictions by their own hands. The fools.." Paul trails off as he picks a few names from the list. Nodding to himself slowly as a smile forms on his face, he addresses his young friend in the room. "I'm sure you're wondering about Diamondback, all I can say is, the man was our informer and obviously he no longer is thanks to the Feds." Paul lights a smoke and leans back in his chair, a little more comfortably now. "My guess can only be that the local branch wants to see a new outfit in town, one that pays their dues. The Durden gang, being the honor-less bunch that they are, have undoubtedly made a deal with them, our turf for a cut of the action. Well I don't think so my friend, not while we are here." He pushes the ledger back in front of Al with his free hand as he takes another long drag with his other and speaks in a raspy voice. "Call up the names I have marked, we are going to hit the local office and take Moira back, all resistance is of course expendable. Now is the time to act." |

Alcatraz's head buzzed while he processed the all the information. It was all too much to digest. He did not know where to start. So he just nods at Paul and picks up the ledger. There was a reason Paul was the boss and following his orders first seemed like the right plan to him. He fingers through the list of names. He knew who they were. They were people who were indebted the family in someway or the other. Paul was already on the phone discussing the matter with some uppers from other districts. He leaves the office, and on the way out, he bumps into Cray. "Cray! Just the person I was looking for! I need you now, this is of utmost importance. Follow me." He leads Cray to his office. He asks Cray to take a seat and makes a call to a couple of the enlisted corrupt Feds in the ledger. If the Feds were working with the Durdens, as Paul had pointed out, some inside intel from either side can shine some light on the puzzle. Like the whereabouts of Moira. He had grown fond of the kind-hearted Irish lass in such a short time. He had no time to waste. Cray wonders what all this is about. Alcatraz slams down the phone receiver and lets out a sigh. "You like wine, Cray?", he says, gesturing the stack of bottles of fine wine on his shelf. Cray nods, and he pours out a glass for him. "I guess you'd wanna know why I need you right now. Right now, is not such a good time for our family. Our secret plans against the Durdens have been compromised, the Feds are on our asses, Moira has been taken, and Operation Diamondback is a disaster..." Cray looked confused. Alcatraz explained to him what the situation was, and briefed him about Diamondback. He looked nervous, well so was Alcatraz. He picked up the paperweight from his table and played with it in his palm. "So here's what I need you to do, if you're up for it. I've made an arrangement with a local Fed who owes us his life, and I need you to rendezvous with him and find out what the Feds are upto. We need a few leads to start with and this is our best chance at it. So can you do it?" |

"I can handle it." Cray answers and reads the piece of paper Alcatraz hands over to him. The name of the local fed is on the paper with the name of an old warehouse owned by their boss Paul_Klint. "I'll meet the fed at the warehouse. If he doesn't give me the info willingly I'll beat it out of him." Cray says and finishes his drink. "Don't worry, Al, we'll find Miss Hayes. They aren't stupid enough to kill one of our own. They might use her for bait or leverage to get something from the boss." Cray rushes out of the Alcatraz's office in a hurry and leaves the HQ. The warehouse is on the outskirts of the city. Cray gets there in less than a hour. Before going in Cray takes off his jacket and leaves it in his car then rolls up his sleeves and walks in the warehouse. Walking on the concrete floor with his snakeskin boots every footstep echoes loud in the empty warehouse. "You must be Al's friend." A man with a deep voice says and steps out of the shadows. "Yeah Al sent me." Cray answers and walks up to the fed. "What do you know about Diamondback?" Cray asks and looks around. The fed was alone. No other feds or bodyguards. "Never heard of him." The fed answers and shrugs. Cray grabs the fed by the collar of his coat and holds up his fist. The fed raises his hands to protect his face. Cray punches his stomach and pushes him down on the concrete floor. "I don't know anything." The fed yells. "You're a liar." Cray says and kicks the man's stomach hard with his boot. "You know Diamondback is a man. What else do you know? Where is Moira_Hayes?" The fed coughs and spits out blood. "I - I don't know where they have her. I - I'll tell you about Diamondback." Cray listens to the fed talk about the informant known as Diamondback, then he leaves the fed on the floor and rushes out of the warehouse. As soon as he's back in Staten Island he stops at a phone booth and calls the HQ. "Al? it's me, Cray. The fed knows nothing about where Miss Hayes is but he told me Diamondback is in protective federal custody. They got him in a safe house in Queens. Get a pen bro, I'll give you the address." |

The FBI had Moira stashed away in a single wide trailer that served as an office for the Queens trash dump. She was bound to a chair rather uncomfortably, but other than that, her captors were civil. There were only two of them in the office- but more were coming. Fortunately, her guards were just dumb enough to discuss the plans with her in the room. "You really think this is gonna work, Joe?" Agent Joe Walsh grinned a little. "Sure it will. For one thing, we got one of the girls. Those mob boys, they don't like it when folks are messin' with their pieces of tail. Second of all, they think they got a rat informer, so they are gonna come running with guns blazing. Right there, we got them for breaking and entering. From there we can get someone talking. Easy as catching rats in a...well...dumpster." Moira glared at Agent Walsh. She didn't take kindly to being referred to as anyone's "piece of tail." Then, something hit her. Walsh said "they think" that the Feds have Diamond back- but they don't? She felt her stomach turn. This was a set up, and if anyone knew now that she was missing, they were going to be heading right into it. Her mind began spinning, trying to think of ways to warn them- but how? About 20 minutes later, the phone rang. Walsh picked up the phone and the other Agent stepped outside to take a piss. "Great, just make sure the boys get here before Klint's gang gets here, huh?" Agent Walsh placed the phone back in its cradle and turned, only to be knocked to his knees by the legs of a wooden chair. Moira, still tied to the chair, had managed to stand up and sneak up on him, then spun her body around and made contact with his stomach and mid section with the chair legs. Walsh, stunned, tried to get to his feet, but Moira kicked him in the throat so he couldn't make a sound. she then backed up into a shadow and waited for the other agent to come back in. "Hey Joe, you oughtta see this thing out here it's like a--" As the other Agent opened the door, he saw Walsh sputtering and gasping on the floor. Moira hurled herself into him and they both tumbled to the ground. The chair broke, just as she'd hoped it would, and she was able to slip out of the rope and the splintered pieces of the chair. She was able to grab Walsh's gun from the holster on the chair just as the second Agent pushed himself to his feet. Moira cocked the pistol and pointed it at him, placing one foot on Walsh's head. "You two couldn't be any more stupid if you were made of horse shit. Never talk about your plan in front of a smart hostage." Keeping pressure on Walsh's neck, she ordered the fat one to call the FBI field office and keep the team of agents back for an hour, that there had been a problem with the security of the landfill and that they would call when the area was secure. Moira went about securing the two men with a roll of ducting tape. As she worked, she prayed that the guys would get here before the office started to suspect. |

Alcatraz walks over to Capino. He lays his hand over his shoulder. "Capino, calm down. Now is not the time to freak out. We need to stay calm and think straight." He took the bottle and refreshes Capino's empty glass. "You want answers, eh? We all do. That's what we're working on... Right now, all we know is that Moira is held captive, possibly by the Feds or the Durdens, and Diamondback is also being held in protective custody by the Feds. The only lead we've got so far, is an address. It's supposed to be where Diamondback is being held." "Then what are we waiting for???", Capino rose. Alcatraz pushes him down again. "Sit down. Think. They KNOW that we've got people on the inside and they are probably expecting this move from us. We can't just give them what they want. It's about time we surprised those bastards. Scare 'em outta their skins. That'll teach them not to mess with us...." He paces back and forth, it helps him think better. "But HOW? That's the question. We don't have much time, we need to act fast. Poor Moira..." |

"How? I'll tell you how! " Katherine steps through the door, the very air around her seething with rage. Pacing as she smoked, until the men thought the sound of her stilletto heels clicking were going to drive them insane, she she stopped and wrote a few notes, handing them to her head thug. "Take these and hand them out, everything to be done quietly but extremely quickly, do you understand me?" The man's eyes widened and he ran out the door, Katherine had never spoken to him like that, something really big must be up. He delivered the notes to his fellow thugs they were addressed to and after dividing up into several groups, they all slithered into the darkness, leaving not a trace, nor making a sound. 'All right, your team takes care of Moira, the G-men best pray she is all right. I've sent my boys to the Agents' houses, threaten their families, especially in numbers, is how you deal with this. Durdens? Pfft" Katherine fairly spits out the name as she pours a neat whiskey and downs it. "Paul's contacts have the streets awash with their blood all ready. They will be driven back to that dump they came from without a problem. Then, as soon as we hear all my boys are in place, we call Agent Jim Howe and Detective Gary Edwards, have them spread the word that all their fellow idiot officers and bosses had best stand down or all families die. They won't be expecting that from us but they forgot one thing, Moira is my daughter-in-law, that makes it personal family as well as Borgata. They crossed that line first, we follow them damn it!" Katherine storms out of the room when Alcatraz nods his understanding. Capino went to go after her but Alcatraz shook his head no. He knew Katherine needed to be active but would keep herself safe. |

Ronan was on his way out of the HQ in order to make his runs for protection money, payment was due from a few local stores. As he was leaving, he passed the boss's office and heard some yelling from inside. "... we need to act fast ..." He paused for a moment and listened. Perhaps there was a job going on, or even some trouble with another family. As a new guy in the crew he wasn't told much, but hopefully if he was in the right place at the right time he might be drafted in to help. Then he could really show his skills. He stayed outside the office for a few moments, fidgeting with his shoelaces and looking at his little list of stores he was to drop-by, doing anything he could to look inconspicuous. He was trying desperately to think of a reason to enter the room and get in on the action. |

Battle runs up the steps of the HQ quickly after he heard the news, with just enough time to bump into Kat as she rushes out. He thought she looked pretty pissed so figured he would ask the boss what was going on. Climbing the rest of the steps, he caught Ronan listening on the outside of the door. Nodding at him, we walked though at the same time. Paul sat at his desk tapping his lighter against a marble ash tray. " Boy's we need to talk" He said in a raspy voice like he just smoked an entire pack of Lucky Strikes."Moria has been taken... We are on the verge of a " so called " rescue mission. However by disrespecting us like this it is going to be more of a siege!!" Paul slams a glass against a wall and puts his pistol on the table. Leaning forward he motions at his pistol signifying for us to strap up. " This isn't going to be easy but we will fight for our own. BD, Ronan you ready?" We nodded as the sweat pours from our foreheads. "Then it's time to roll out. Ronan, you ride shotgun with BD" Paul winked at Al and they walked out first. Excited from the adrenaline rush we rushed out right behind Al wondering if we could make it in time. |

Lord Voldemort was in town for what was supposed to be a few hours. However, he had heard about what had happened and quickly made a phone call to his Boss and received the Authorization to stay as long as his hands and gun could be used. He walks up to the Boragata HQ and catches Paul_Klint as he is leaving. " Good morning sir, i have heard about what happened and came to offer you my assistance, i heard talk of a seige on the feds building where they are said to be keeping Moira_Hayes hostage. As it stands right now i think you should hear me out as this plan is destined to fail unless you have the most recent intel that i have on the Durden gang's whereabouts in NY and of course the FBN officials that are collaberating with them. Not to mention i just left that building not more than an hour ago and overheard a few troubling things i think you should know about." Lord Voldemort lights himself a cigar and offers one to the famous Crew Leader that he had grown to respect. |
